You can also try staying in between buildings, behind hills, or behind trees and bushes. When in a vehicle avoid open areas, but if you really have to, travel with hills and ridges or even buildings to hide your profile.

If I see a chopper I just sic my .50 tank MG on their cockpit and watch them burst into flames.

Experienced ground pounder here. Fighting anything flying as infantry is just plain stupid.

My advice: Grab a tank and go chopper hunting. Use buildings & vegetation for cover (because TV's can't go through trees). Greatest advantage, tank rounds don't give them a warning and can be a 1 shot kill if placed correctly. Fire your main gun and then follow with machine gun fire. Will take practice to lead the target correctly, but once perfected, the kills are oh so joyful.

And if you're looking for payback, park yourself near their heliopad and wait, nailing them just after they take off. Just don't get carried away.

Most times, I'll kill more choppers than choppers kill me, especially on smaller maps.

Im not giving strategies to fully escape/defeat helicopters im giving strategies that will increase your chances of surviving. And everyone boasting about coming back and kicking my *** with your heli-gun you must feel awfully proud killing me since like you said, there is no way to defeat you >_>

Well, it's true for the most part. Multiple infantrymen with the AT kit might be risky targets, but they're likely to die without inflicting any (serious) damage to the heli crew.

Your best bet would be spotting the f*ck out of us while moving towards a .50 cal or AA, and hope that your own heli/jet crew takes notice. Otherwise, well... what would you like on your tombstone?

played a few rounds on sharqi today and i downed a couple of helis. first one was as sniper with M95. i realised that the crew were pretty average as they were hovering over construction trying to cap it so i sniped the pilot. i was expecting either the gunner not to realise or switch and fly off. but no, he did switch but this is the bit that amazed me. he simply carried on doing what the pilot was doing! i was like 2x piss easy kills, thanks

the other one was as anti tank, i saw the chopper hit a building and fired AT rocket, well he tried to evade and flew off nearly to the point where i couldnt see my rocket anymore, he was dodging all over the place only for the you killed............ x2 message to pop up.
oh and both times were the same guys:laugh:

um with a transport MG you can bring a chopper down literaly in seconds.

Im a chopper whore, and I love it when infantry fire their assault rifles at the chopper. Makes them extremely easy to spot.

i just listen to where the chopper is and hide behind shrubs/corners/trees etc as anti tank, wait till the chopper:

a) reverses their rotation (pausing for a moment)
b) crawl backwards, wait for it to pass (facing away from me)
c) wait for it to retreat
d) is dumb enough to hover

and shoot at it, its all you can really do. also, if I'm heading to a flag for backup and theres a helo harassing it, ill take a shot with whatever gun i have, to get the red shot indicator to point in my direction, in the hope they'll turn to kill me, hopefully giving my team a chance to hide or shoot.

i find that good pilots are a lot rarer than this thread would allow you to believe

If Gunners wanna score, they depend alot on good pilots. Pilots should get most of the credits. gunners just scan the mouse. not much skill at all. and you call yourself chaingun pro???

ever tried to do that against a very skilled pilot? the kind that circle strafe a flag at 200 miles an hour being impossible to hit with any kind of projectile/ammunition, yet still making it simple for their gunner to mow troops down as their xhairs are not shaky and unpredictable but fluid and predictable making it a simple task to lead troops on the ground and barely wasting more than one cannon shot per troop, as the 50 starts shooting possibly not even landing one bullet on the chopper he reverts back and within seconds lays 4-5 missles directly onto your jeep before you even had time to jump out only to proceed back to said flag and circle strafe at 200 mph again almost in a complete vertical transition the entire time.
