    Re: SU-35, F-15 Bomb sites

It operates differently, just shoot and hold the crosshair on the target, youll get the basic jist. Then, later start using the crosshair to actually guide the missile towards your desired location.

Basically, TVGM on jets- onboard camera perspective
TVGM on choppers- on missile camera perspective

EDIT: Its a little hard to understand and harder to explain. Basically, in theory, the missile goes where you point your crosshair at. You dont need to hold the mousekey, just hold the crosshair on the desired target area. Thats where the missile goes. When you get better, you stop paying attention to the crosshair and start watching the missile, most importantly- where it goes and how it responds to you moving the crosshair. By the end, youll guide the missile as if it was a jet in 3rd perspective. As I said, hard to explain. Just practice manual guidance and youll soon figure out what I tried to say.

I've had limited success with just placing the crosshairs over the appearing circles on the map and firing the missle.. sometimes it would take out the target, sometimes not. I find that if I hold the cursor over the target for a few seconds, when the guys says "i'm locked in" usually by that time the pilot either turns away from the target, or the target goes off screen.

Most any decent bomber pilot likes to fly at max/near max speed to avoid stingers, and increase mobility to avoid fighter jets. That being said, it is somewhat difficult to get "locked on" to a target. I find that 9/10 times when my guy gets a lock, after I fire a missle, the plane is traveling too fast and overshoots the target, or does a hard bank left or right, and my guided missle now slams into a mountain instead.

If the pilot slows down to provide longer sight pictures of the target.. he usually gets blasted from the sky.

Which is the best method of striking these ground targets?

also, why does the lock not work on aerial targets?

      cheers.
Dont wait for the lock on. Just fire when your flying towards something. Just hold your crosshair over the target and you will hit

I always wait for the lock on and have had great success with it. If you come down on a decent angle, hitting targets should be simple. The only time my missles go stray is if the pilot drops his bombs, then the missles shoots off.

You have to have a good pilot who will hold the jet steady for you. Whenever I pilot the F-15 for example, I always hold my position so they can get a solid lock and the kill. If youre looking for a pilot to team up with, look me up.

You can afford to do this only if you have a good pilot (which is not typical). As others have said, look for the target identifier, fire and then guide the missile by moving your mouse to put the cross-hair over the target. You do not have to click your mouse to adjust the missile track as with the chopper TV guided missiles.

                Re: SU-35, F-15 Bomb sites

Ok listen... people that don't know what you're talking about, please shut up because you make things more confusing.

On the gunner position in the bombers there is this glitch that you might have seen (everyone just calls it "the glitch")... once it starts happening, basically you have to trash the jet..

But basically, the missle will go off to the left or right as HARD as it can turn... sometimes you won't even see it because it turned so sharp.

How do you avoid this? Well a few things I have found to work to making your LGM (laser-guided missle) work all round are:

                1) Be able to communicate with your pilot, when you are reloading DO NOT fly over the runway... for some reason the action of reloading/rearming at the same time does not go well..

                2) When you fire, make sure it hits the ground... if you think you won't be able to get it to hit the ground, don't shoot.. When you fire the missle off into the sky it always seems to glitch.

                3) 3rd person... Do not attempt to look in 3rd person when you are reloading... TBH, try to stay in the 1st person missle cam (static) as much as possible..)

The LGM isn't like a TV missle... aka you do not have to click over and over again... You click ONE time, and you don't have to hold it. Once you click, missle is released.. and then you guide it to the target basically by holding the crosshairs over the desired target.. but like chris said this isn't that effective for hitting like choppers or some things like that.. but for randomly hitting flags, just hold your mouse over the flag and follow it until it hits.

When dive bombing it will be easy to hit **** mainly because you won't have to turn the missle as much, it will just be straight shooting. When you are going near level, think of it like this... When you are gunning in the cobra (or any attack chopper) and moving forwards full speed and you see infantry in front of you, basically you are going to aim WAY in front of him and the forward momentum of the chopper will make the bullets hit.. right? Same thing with the bomber... If flying level, you are moving fast, so you will have to aim quite a bit BEFORE the target... aka you have to lead the target.

And yeah, like everyone else said, your success with LGM's is really heavily dependant on your pilot..

Also keep in mind... Jets can see the target boxes pop up at like 500m or something (sorry idk the number but it's out there), and the gunner can only see HALF that distance.. So most of the time, unless the pilot purposely is giving you kills, he will drop the bombs before you are even aware that there is a target... that's quality DICE coding for ya.. You would think they would make it equal to what the jet sees, and then just lower how far the jet can see to make it even.

And whoever said slow down.... WHY would you slow down? I laugh when I see jets going slow.. Sorry but there is no need to ever slow down in a jet midflight unless it is for rearm/repair or in the middle of a dogfight (shouldn't do..), and it will get you killed.

Another thing... remember the LGM only sees slightly BELOW the pilots center crosshair, and below.. so if he aims you straight on, you won't be able to see anything cause the nose will be in the way... wow I typed too much..

The glitch where the missile steers heavily to the right or to the left is fixable, 100%

Yeah you drop your gunner off on the runway, pick him up, but that doesn't fix it "100%"... how do you fix it if that isn't what you're talking about?

The gunners missile steering off to left/right can be fixed by "calibrating the cannon". Move the cannon in circles around its maximum angles through the corners and edges. THAt bug gets fixed that way.

The mis-shooting, relaoad/rearm bug however needs the gunner to get off and on.

Thanks for the tip. I really enjoy working with a good pilot in the bomber, but the bugs just made it nearly impossible to stay effective for any length of time.

As the gunner, scroll your wheel mouse to select between the two LGM's. Yes there is a selection of two. Click like heck while switching between the two and scroll left and right similar to the calibrating cannon method and hit the fire button. Curse at your computer three times and then repeat. The LGM should unjam and allow you to fire. This has worked a couple times for me, but you don't have to yell at your computer as one of the steps.

                            As for LGM shots...

These were normally shots i had already manually fired but then locked on to the target making it easier to guide the missle to its prey.
