i meant it as in, the 7600 is a low end card that most any psu could handle, and is not a big shiny graphics card... whatsoever.

Low end card eh? You need a high-end video card to run BF2 on high settings, and I'm running BF2 on high settings with a 7600 GT.

I have the EXACT computer. i only have 1gb though.... What RAM did you put in there? If you get a new graphics card let me know what it is... i want a diffrent one then the whimpy Integrated. I can play all lows at about 34-40 FPS with it...BUt maybe the 3gb RAM will increase by a few...Again tell me which ram you put in there.

oh I don't know ****? I've built many a gaming computer buddy. All I'm trying to do is help and tell it like it is, but you get offended. YEAH the 7600GT is for the casual to moderate gamer. You spend 100 dollars on a graphics card and you think you've bought a high end graphics card? Sure its way better than anything onboard, but its no 7800, even a 6800GT might be a little better. When you SLi 2 7600GTs you barely reach 7900GS performance. 128-bit memory interface, oh yeah thats sophisticated. Given the 7600GT does seem to perform better than it seems like it should, its not a golden gun. You can say you run high settings all day long, but I promise you when your on sharqi at the construction site, and all hell is breaking loose with 64 people, you won't be breaking the 30 fps seal.

Try playing Flight Simulator X or Crysis when it comes out. The 7600GT isn't going to be the card man. BF2 isn't all that much of a taxing game anymore.

I'm not trying to burst your bubble, I just get offended when someone who is clearly wrong tries to tell me I don't know #$%&.

P.S. My sisters computer has a 7600GT. I have a 7950GT. I know the difference.

^7600gt doesnt require a 12v rail.

System Requirements:

Minimum of a 400 Watt power supply.
(Minimum recommended power supply with +12 Volt current rating of 18 Amps.)
Minimum 450 Watt for SLI mode system.
(Minimum recommended power supply with +12 Volt current rating of 24 Amps.)

the pci-e slot supplies enough power for my 7600gt.

ok I'm guessing you don't know what a 12V rail is. Its in your PSU and whether it comes from the slot, or external power (and I'm getting these specs from a card that does not need extra power) you need 18 amps out of the 12 volt rail from your psu thats comming from the motherboard which in turn came from the psu. If you're running a 350 watt psu with 12 amps on the 12 volt rail, prepare to buy a new video card.

see the one that says 12+... thats the 12V rail. If your psu was rated at less than 18 amps, you couldn't safely run that card. Regardless of whether it needs additional power or not.


so if the person we are recomending the card has a shotty psu, we wouldn't be steeering him in the right direction.

thats why total power doesn't have to be crazy amounts they've been getting lately. But people don't pay attention to whats important. My psu is only rated at 550W. But I have 3 12V rails and plenty of power to power another video card.
