Now when this also happen, they can produced their very own G3 Battle Rifle just like how country like Israel can manipulate the M16 and create it into their own version, or how the China can copy the design of AK47 and called it Type ##...And you are also right, the AK are very cheap, that's why they want a better assault rifle than that. Just because people lived in Middle East doesn't mean we should automatically give them the AK47 as if they're some kind of cheap village people. The MEC in the game are suppose to be the advance version, and giving it an AK47 is an insult.
