There's a new POE 2 server online in Virginia! It's is ranked in the Alternative Mod Ranking system, a system that lets you share ranks/awards across all of the system's supported mods.
This must be just setup for AMR servers....I think I'd prefer to wait for a global POE2 ranking system once the Devs come up with it. Nice Virginia server though .

Nah, I'm not interested in POEStats. This system allows you to play on all supported mods and share your stats among all of them. It's kind of like vBF2 with AF, EF and SF....

are you hyping this system for only certain servers to gain traffic or are you offering the rest of the community configs and streaming configurations?

I'm not offering anyone anything. I am simply a happy server admin that wants to spread the word and help make the system more popular. Wolf Servers is offering servers with AMR if anyone is interested.

thats what I thought... but my point about all this is the ranking system that BF2 has alone is what killed that game..why push something as large as it to kill mods off? I can see using a stand alone system like POEstats cause its only for that one set mod..but nothing system wide like BF2.
Stats is what killed the game and future games that get big business like EA money hungry!

Thanks but no thanks!
The ranking system has killed *MODS* for BF2 because most BF2 players want stats. If they can play these high quality mods AND get stats, it'll attact more players.
It's this AMR system that makes us wonder if it's even worth the time to continue developing our own system, why bother when people are just going to use something else.

Cause you can clearly read above that its not for everyone that has a server but only to hype their own systems to get the players. Pretty sad IMO kinda like getting your own little "ranked" symbol to show up in the browser.
The server admins can decide if they want to include stats from all mods on their servers or only from that specific mod. I believe this is the savior for mods. Finally the stat whores that have only been playing vBF2 because of rank now can play many mods and feel like they "accomplished" something. That's the excuse many of them give for not playing mods... they aren't "accomplishing" anything... they like to be rewarded when playing.
As far as AMR being the end of POEStats, well... it would be nice if the POEStats team wanted to merge with AMR to help improve things, but chances are you guys wouldn't see eye to eye on the scoring system. AMR is based on EA's official scoring system, but you never know... AMR does work with POE 1.7, unlike POEStats...
And again, please remember I am just a happy server admin that sees the potential of this system. What I say shouldn't be construed as official or as a representative of their ideas or opinions. :)

if this system is so great, how about offering the streaming from other servers that are running mods than just a AMR server?
You'd be best off visiting their website at http://amr-stats.com. Post in the English forums unless you speak German.. :)
You have to fill out an app, then you receive an email with information. You get the new python files that are required as well as the other info needed to set things up.
I went and registered on the forum...it looks like ABR is dead and I couldn't find any info on bf2statisics. Anyway, we'll see how popular AMR is stateside.
I've been waiting for a couple weeks for poestats to come with the update, but I'll try this out in the meantime.
DP, I don't think this will kill mods or poestats. Hopefully you guys keep developing it, but one drawback is that it only collects stats for poe and as more mods come out people are going to want to run those servers simultaneously. poestats won't ever be a global solution for all of those mods, and it may not even be global for poe2.
All that said, the two environments are totally different. PoEstats is just basic statistical accumulation...and a lot of it, whereas AMR has awards/badges like EA's system. So the two will attract different communities of admins and players. Personally, I enjoy the depth of the poestats data, but I know that some of my players are interested in awards. I've read of poestats stance on that...so it doesn't seem like they are even an option. But depending on the players is the system we'll fully implement...
(but yeah, if something like AMR worked with poestats team, there would be a system that would blow EA's away). Keep in mind that stats ruining the game is an assessment, an assumption, no one has done any scientific polling to determine why people don't play mods as much. We don't know the reason, but many come to mind *other* than stats.
