^^Get 2 gigs os RAM. Never lagged again after i bouth 2 gigs. I've got a 3 GHZ CPU and a GeForce 6800 and i can still run on all high, exept no AA without any lagg:) So 2 gigs of RAM are recomended.Comment

So if you were doing SP on a high detailed map like a 64 size Fushe Pass on BF2 Vanilla and you had an exremely high rated graphics card would you still lag more than if you had 2 gigs of RAM (memory)? Just wondering because I've been thinking about upgradeing for a long time... Give me your opinion and mabye a price. What kind of memory card did you get? Thanks very much.
*I would love to live to see the day where I can play BF2 and not experience one ounce of lag. I don't lag very much but Online, oh yeah, it suxs. But for SP I can't do 32 or 64 size maps for sure on any mod. I think PR does require a bit more because there is so much detail put into that game.Comment

ihave 3 gig ram & i run everything on high ,if i get lagg its from my isp not my system.
good graphic card is a must for no lagg also
do you run cable or dsl? cable has lagg at peak times, dsl is more constant & usually high upload packets. :salute:Comment

Get DSL, i'd go up to atleast 2 gig of ram , what do you have now? I had cable & talked to the cable people , there is peak times & the band will fall. depending on where you live, check it at peak times, like when all the kids are home, usually aboutt 7-11pm at night & on myspace, just keep checkin to see. mine used to get down to 300kb, thats a big drop from the normal 4+ gig i had.
the card depends on your budge & slots , go with PCI-E if you have the slot is my opinion, and get a good card alex98 on here is very savvy on those things.

I bouth 2 gigs of DDR2 RAM, and it works wonders:) Btw, do you have Vista? I have two copies of BF2 on Windows XP which is probably the best... The computers are like a year and a half old but they run pretty good. They are both Dell. I'm getting a little dissapointed with their performance lately though and I think I need to look into graphics cards and memory, plus running CCleaner and defragging would probably be a good idea. I know what you mean about Vista though, heck! I have a Vista laptop, (Dell) and it's the slowest thing I've ever seen.. It's supposed to be a business/travel computer for my dad but it sucks pretty bad... lol :nod:Comment
