no u odnt have to dl it desert,but anyways ive play on rtr and ive NEVER seen anyhting to suggest a server side mod,everyhting plays as a regular bf2 server, although i quit playing because every time i went there would be a new hacker.

I have played on that server many times and have seen the commander hack a few times. I am NOT badmouthing the server...like you seem to be. I was commenting on the HACKERS.

Now..to address the other idiot comments.

I MODIFIED my localization file 2 years ago to my liking...that is NOT the problem. I use "RAMBO KNIFE" instead of knife.

I am NOT a horrible sniper..it is my NUMBER one kit and I will smoke your *** if I see you on the battlefield. I had FRAPS running...I was typing like mad to notify the admins about the hackers, and I hit the idiot on the beach 5 times. Two gave off "smoke" which is indicative of lag, and two were DIRECT HITS that I got "CONFIRMATION" hits on. The dude should have died.

Those were NOT missles coming from the IGLA, so I suggest you look again. The dude was prone and firing MULTIPLE rockets. Each kill his "rocket" made, registered as a knife kill.

You guys are a riot.

I am running 1920x1200 on a 24" Samsung 244T with an Nvidia 8800GTX, 2GB RAM, Pentium Dual Core E6400 running at 3Ghz, and using a Sound Blaster Fatal1ty soundcard. My motherboard is the eVga Nvidia 680i chipset.

Yes..it is quite sweet. When you get to be 39 and make good $$..you can build yourself a nice $5000 system.

wow, way to single me out, there is no way the client side can ALTER the Server side settings.

The olny way is to log/ hack into the server and change it THROUGHT THE SERVER.

or, you have access to the settings (which is a violation of signing the contract when you rent a server) and then changing the files there.

i joined a server that claimed to be a ranked karkand server. but when i got in, everyone could run a little faster and jump 30 feet in the air (like a c4 jump when ff is off). then the knife became a missle launcher (launching attack chopper missles) and everyone was flying around launching rockets. then they dissabled that and made the aks-74u and m-117 shoot rockets. then they switched it so that the m-117 shot claymors. it was pretty nuts until the server restarted. i rejoined but there were only 2-3 people and nothing weird going on.

if that cost you 5k you got ripped off, less than 2k it would cost to buy/build that system at any decent parts retailer.

on topic, afaik its impossible to hack like that, don't you think their would be alot more people using them, leads me to believe it is server side since certain things not produced by the player/s were moving/firing faster than they should be which cannot be changed via hack. i saw the confirmed 2 hits as well as the 3 puffs on that guy, watching closely he never dropped a medic pack so he should be dead, unless of course, damage has been toned, like FF servers where it would take say 9 bullets to kill a friendly etc.

This was on a RANKED server...=rTr= 24/7 Wake Island.

Been on that server the admins are okay. If you can report them to the website and I hope they will ban them and then report to EA good luck

No, I don't think so. As you might have noticed by seeing the video, using that kind of hack will get you detected in about 0.000005 seconds by any admin around, and soon you'd get GUID banned.

Anyway, it is possibile to hack like that by.. no, I don't think anybody needs a clue on how to hack. It's possibile, and it's been done. It's just because it's far too easy detectable that it is not created, sold and used as much as aimbots, wallhacks, radarhacks and so on.
