While this thread is about how to record a video during the game I have a slightly different question to add. I have some Battle Recorder files and want to play them on my DVD player so I can show them to some people at work. I just want to do a straight conversion no editing so that I might get some people at work interested in playing BF2. Im the only one I know who plays and a video might help. What is the easiest way to do this? . . . . . . . . .Red

WinAvi is a good tool, fast and quality to convert into DVD, does alot of different types of files, and its 10 times faster than the next program.

i just downloaded FRAPS... its so crap.... ive got a decent rig and i got the trial version.

As soon as I started recording.... the game goes all laggy... then i watched the movies... OMG they are crappy

then your computer is not that decent. your recording while playing a game, let me guess P4, not C2D, P4s + netburst are horrible multitaskers compared to core2's. what kind of vid card do you have. i run a c2d at 2.6 with an X1950pro, bf2 full 6Xaa and with fraps running it dips to 80Fps if it gets busy. and the X1950 is only an upper midgrade card, heck you can get one for probably less than 200 bucks now, if you are lagging really bad running fraps lower your bf2 settings a bit and record in half size mode in fraps, also turn off record sound if you plan on adding your own music, helps the speed a little. oh and TRAIL VERSION SUCKS, it only records 30 seconds at a time and has a stupid fraps splash on your movies.

I use battlerecorder but unless u r an admin u cant do it on servers. Then i record with fraps to make films

Hey, thanks for answering my little question guys.

There should be a easy way that a person can make thier own movie, like the orignal post wants to do. I havent ever heard of a way of doing it myself. I guess its like a lot of things in BF2, left out due to lack of intrest. Maybe someone knows how to do it, I guess Ill just have to keep checking this thread to find out.
