definitely interesting but if that little vanilla rank symbol wont show i think it will be hard to get anyone to use it.
one other question, is this server specific or dcon specific? will it track a persons stats only on one specific server using the rank system like the alternate bf ranking system or will it track for all servers using the rank system meaning can you play on any server using this rank system and accumulate stats?Comment

that not real rank, they are the other falsely ranked us server, they aren't using the rank system catia is referring to.
the nbk server is just showing vanilla rank ingame, you can also rank up your vanilla points if you are close enough before the round starts. same with medals and badges but dont be fooled, your not getting anything, its just because they altered the server files to trick the client into thinking thats a regular vanilla server so they can show as a ranked server.
from what i understand this new rank system will not make a server show up in the browser when you have the ranked server box checked since thats against the tos for the game and i doubt they would include that in the new rank system, ea would bust a nut.Comment

yea, the stat system for poe2 made by the devs is very nice but i dont think too many servers even use it. as i understand it it only tracks for each specific server.
just keep in mind though, if you leave the rank box checked in the server browser and you see a server it is not really really ranked. the real mod rank systems do not show when you leave the rank box checked, at least the ones ive noticed, i could be wrong.
i would think this dcon stats system would include ranks and badges but i wouldn't hazard a guess, im sure catia can shed some light on if there will be and give us some more details.Comment

this ranking system will be dcon based, not just 1 server, many!!!! im working on a package to do the setup for Server admins automatically, at least for the most part!
Ranked icon, for now no, but working on that little detail!
system is capable of doing, ranks, unlocks, medals, badges, etc yada yada, as far as what WILL be used for now its all on but we will see as time progresses.Comment

it seems they are DEAD serious about this.. my email response about applying this to my server said I must give admin rights so they could monitor it or I couldn't have it streaming the DCON stats.
no reply back so far...but I'm not giving admin rights to anyone to my server cept for a few teammates in my own clan. The owner of the stat server should be able to monitor whats going on to ensure stats are not being padded and so forth....no need to have a all seeing eye over a personal server which is using personal resources and funds to support this mod.Comment

Ranks are lost as soon as the round ends.
I agree however not all of us survived the EA brain washing so adding this as option for DCON fans that are still stuck on stats is a good idea in my opinion if it helps promote player interest in supporting the mod
I have tested this with MasterX a few times and I will be adding it to our servers as soon as it's available. As I mentioned previously, I think it's a step in the right direction as it will help DCON attract players that are hung up on seeing stats when they play.Comment

As I posted in the other thread before it got closed:
it didn't seem so bad at first..but when I get told I have to allow basic admin rights for this guy or whoever to monitor the server, that became a blow off to me. Unless your helping to fund the server or your part of my clan then no go on that. I'm sure its easy enough to monitor stat padders on the server its streaming to.
Here is the response I got from a simple let me try it on my server request:
so if a person doesn't allow one of these things then you can't have your server "DCON Ranked" thus you lose another advantage (not as much as the regular EA Ranked Symbol) to the server that others seem to have.its not that simple, first off read the below
Requirements
root python permissions(/python/bf2/stats/)
dns redirect by server admin, or permissions to use a custom executable
finally, if bf2cc is installed, a basic admin permission for me to your server to have server deal with padders automatically!
if its discovered that your server is used by others for padding stats, there banned, if you use it for that, i disconnect your feed!
dont be turned off, but i hate noobs and other stupid people who would love to use this to cheat up there stats! it aint happnning here!!!!!
if you cant meet the 3 requirements at top then sorry but its not possible to rank your server!
Ohh well so much for community support.
And as the other thread was responded to saying it would get looked into..thats good cause I wouldn't mind helping to support this MOD in a teamworked bases with other servers like this but i'm not giving admin rights to just anyone...plus the streaming will be watched closely along with any files that must be used on my box.Comment

how nice sava, im trying to help dcon get popular, and also make sure the stats dont become padded by idiots who have learned to use pcs, and you want to rip on me for this, say so much for community support, well that kinda tells me you have either something to be afraid of, or like to rip on anyone who goes against what you say, either way i dont care.
its like a witch hunt without any witches, but there hellbent on finding one anyway, no thanks
i have worked my *** off on dcon and spent money and time on the community that maybe should have been used better elsewhere if this is the thanks i get for the 49.99 a month i payed for the 2 graebtech dcon mirrors when dcon_ctf, and 0.1a was released, both of which maxxed there bandwidth by the second day! and what of the 80 bucks for the ded i have the stats system on! yeah i guess i could be more supportive than i have been, my bad!

Your reasoning behind requesting such as thing doesn't hold merit with me since I know how files are viewed and run just like you do. So, its simple.... just watch the streaming servers to catch your padders of the DCON stats and if you have a issue with said server then contact them on it...if they fail to fix the issue after giving a warning of course then sure I can see pulling the feed from that server.
This is also not about money..I could care less if you cracked open your piggy bank jar from your early child hood. Its about support for YOUR MOD which we are trying to do but everytime someone such as myself requests help to do so you kick us in the balls with some BS (I need admin to your server) and so on.
I can be patient about the patch since it appears its not going to be released anytime in July but you have to understand that the MOD is DYING! Everyday I see the player count drop and this idea you worked on is GREAT! So again, its nothing against you that I post your response or your requests..but to show the rest of the community what is involved and to perhaps have this request dropped so I and others can supply a Great running server with this Mod running on it for everyone to play.
so upon finishing this response..just let me add Thanks to yourself and to the rest of the DCON Mod team for this great mod and the hard work you have done on it. I'm sure you guys have your issues and days like everyone else so carry on and I look forward to your email response about the streaming.Comment
