EA sweeping stats issue under the rug

so i go on to the official EA BF2 website tonight to check if there is any news on the *issue*, only to find that EA has deleted all of the stats related threads that have been open for almost a week now, all at once, and the official stat issue sticky locked by mods, and anything related to it promptly deleted. after a week of no stats EA has not put it in an in game message, the front page of the bf2 website still has liek zomg armored Fury DL nowz!! and no official anouncement. comments? the end of stats? can all the stat fiends follow the dark path of wicked mods that pwn vanilla?

I am not someone that swears and shouts at EA for robbing money, as we never complain the 97% of the time when it DOES work.
The problem they have (Dice/Gamespy/EA), will be difficult and hard to find/solve. But I think there is a lack of communication from EA towards their million customers. A company like this should post in game, or on their forums, twice an update per day (at least). Even if there's nothing to mention, it gives us (the customer) a feeling they are working their arses off.

I used to be working in network support, and EA has been my customer.
When part of their network was down (service interrupted), they were on the phone every 5 minutes (as they were loosing thousands an hour).
But not being funny, if you count all server owners (rent) and players (we had to buy the game), the amount of money must be significant as well.

I like EA games, and will always play them (even BF without stats),
but still think the customer support is way below level.

I agree. People are still paying for ranked servers. You're paying for a system that doesn't work. If this were a regular business, refunds should be offered it continues for much longer.

The fact they are deleting threads 'could' just mean they are getting rid of the excess threads on the same subject....however if they are deleting ALL of these stats threads, then I would agree with the theory that they are canning stats.

But really, dont you think they would give some sort of a head up before doing this? I know EA has had some bad publicity, but I dont even think THEY would trash stats without at least giving a warning.

hmm... i dunno. EA just came up with the idea of stats. Its the server providers and owners that are paying Gamespy to run it. So, as long as there are people still buying ranked servers, i think it will remain.

I think so too. Just because they lock and delete threads does not mean they really intend to sweep it away, it could just be they are tired of viewing the main page clogged with the same threads over and over.

it seems as not all servers are affected. Yesterday i played on internode servers (australian servers) and all my stats updated straight away. After a while i jumped on Gamearena servers and none of my stats from yesterday and today updated.

If they are tired of viewing so many threads they should make an official announcement. Plus they should seek out contact with websites/forums like TotalBF2 and BF2s and keep their fanbase up to date on whats going on. EA lack customer & community support which I, before I bought BF2, have never seen on such a scale.

Maybe they just got sick of all the annoying rants about kiddies not having their precious stats updated.

Kinda' like how half of the threads in the BF2 discussion are all about the stats problem. Yet they all touch upon the same thing.

It's sickening already. A mod needs to take care of it.

That's not true at all. With Microsoft you at least get a working resolution at the end of your phone call.

I am fine with them going down, as things go wrong with anything.

But making this thread is kinda pointless and EA/DICE/Gamespy or whoever is doing the best they can.

So judging by your signature you are a stats whore, and you're upset that you can't get more points, well if I'm wrong sorry for making a wrong guess, now, just sit tight, it'll be fixed as soon as they know what the problem is.
