I have to agree with the main whinge. There's something fishy in the state of ...

My ping is 20-60 usually. I restart the PC if it's high.

And still I get the same thing as the poster - a good few hits on target, the guy dolphin dives and kills me from full health.

I used to be angry at this.

But now I just open another beer.

Play on servers with pings below 20. I'm lucky enough to be right next to a server provider :p

Still, whenever I try playing on a US server, I experience precisely those problems.

Ping is not the only factor. Remember packet loss and note that P/L is way worse than bad ping. Generally, you should be very fine with ping <60-70 and no packet loss

I just played infantry again after a few months coz I was bored and its the same story again

I empty my clip into a guy, he turns around and kills me in less then a second

had perfect ping, most of those guys had way higher ping then mine

You just gotta learn where the hit boxes are. I used to suck so i started using the G36E, because its so accurate, to find where i need to aim with a ping of 40-60. Once i learnt that i applied it to the AK and M16 and now i win probably 90&#37; of 1 vs 1's.

Playing some of the best players on ESL however is another story, first shots give of dust and before you have time to compensate your dead haha.

Perfect example of the hit box being behind them is 2 mins 40 seconds into my mess around video.

I can shoot a guy up then he goes prone and it seems like one shot kills me

Its why i usually play as a sniper and tend to stay a little away from action.

It also seems when im in a tank they can take me down with rifles and so on but if im against a tank even with the anti-tank man it takes me 4 or 5 shots to take it down

almost exactly why i snipe. gets you away from the freakin aimbotters.

and almost all the cheaters never snipe......except for a few. playin on wake, i was spec ops assaulting north base flag with 6 other guys, there was a sniper shooting at our guys at north village. well, i empty 10 rounds into this snipers head the with the scar-L, he sees me and runs around a corner. he pops back out around the corner with the friggen silenced pistol and kills me instantly. my health is full, less than a second later it IS GONE from a friggen pistol. and usually when being shot at by pistol, you can see your health go down in tiny increments fast, right? well there was no increments. so hacking fast it was instantly gone. emptied a whole pistol clip into me in under 1/2 a second.

:shakehead: you scream hax over that? god i feel for good players, anyone can pop off 15 rounds of a pistol in a second or 2 and it only takes 2 to 6 shots to kill you with one, thats the problem with this game, crappy hitbox lag etc causes all the people with crappy connections/whatever to cry hax when they get pwnt, if i get worked really badly i have a tendency to check their ping, and 9/10 it is much better than mine, or even just 10-20 lower will be enough to have the jump put on me

my ping hangs around 55-58 and mine is fine.

Its your ping. The faster the ping the quicker the feed back from the server you will receive. You could be at 50 ot 60 and the other guy may have been in the 20s or 30's. That means he will see events faster or before you.

(Also the pings are not consistant so it can vary from frame to frame. check for "Ultimately pings will be the death of you" in support I had the same problems

We are not fighting real time. So you have to manage it. Notice sometimes guys just appear from nowhere. It is because you did not catch the frames that had him walking around the corner. So it appears that he magically appeared. He may have saw you in every frame and started unloading on you
at the moment you got the frames showing him in fromt of you. As soon as the server registers your hits you see the death frame.

So what can you do?

Most guys jump prone shoot so you have to compensate for your lag and aim and shoot where he is going. As soon as you see him, pop the rounds where he is going (the ground a few feet in front of where you first saw him) Bust him up there. That the only way you can even out the exchange and the server counts hits in his hit box. I started doing that and now I'm not losing every exchange.

I balances out because there is a guy slower than you out there and you will get the jump on him.

So if he just appears automatically then you know he is a fast ping and shoot where he is going and not where he was.

Don't be discouraged. We can reason which gives us the ability to adapt.

I have the ame issue every now and again. I'll place 3-4 hits on the target and none register. It sucks but oh well.

Use it to your advantage...If you jump around like a dying fish then they're going to have a heck of a hard time trying to hit you :)

I'm growing so tired of this game but it's a shame because it often times is fun.

Why on earth is it that I can put 5-6 registered hits on a guy, and they simply drop prone and BOOM. I'm dead. Everytime, any range, any person, I shoot them several times, the hits register, they can even be prone facing me. Do I get a headshot? Nope. Do they die? Nope. I'm sick of getting the jump on a guy, putting controlled bursts into his head/torso, then watching him spin, drop and kill me in half a second. Yes I understand some guys are good, but this happens ALL the time. Example: I'm in karkand, walk around a corner, guy is running at me. I drop prone with the G3, 2 controlled bursts, registered, he's still up, he then drops and smears me...that's just wrong. However it NEVER seems like I survive more than 2 bullets, ever. My ping is 54 and I'm not lagging.

Why does it seem like I'm playing war with a BB gun???

Thats just the dynamics of BF2, as someone else said i quit playing as infantry as well because of this, its just retarded. Nothing more frustrating than filling a dude full of holes only to have him prone and drop you in what seems to be a heartbeat. So i stick to the big guns now, tanks, apcs, and jets man! :shock: :yay: :salute: :salute: :salute: :shakehead:

Well, do you have a very high ping in that server?

Or maybe you just shot too little...:laugh:
