I think you should be asking who has actually had match experience, because from reading this thread and I mean no offence but people who are putting down they play sniper have no idea what a match is like. You will not find a sniper ever playing in a match.
Matches are a totally different ball game than pubbing.

qft. we should focus on getting clan-players playing who have experience. as blood stated before him and i have enormous experience and we are willing to be in a chopper. we are in the same clan and we have played a few matches against both good and bad teams.

HKS speaks the truth, snipers are 'almost' useless in matches, they can have their advantages (M95) in the enemy main to help Spec Ops steal jets/helos. But why on earth would you snipe in a match other than that?

Squads run together with medics, even if you kill someone they are going to be revived. You could go 30-0 KDR and feel good about yourself, but 99% of those kills got revved. Its about teamwork: AT, medics and maybe a support guy.

Even if you take out the medics, the other guys will grab the kit and revive them. You alone as a sniper will make no difference in a match my friend, I dont care how good you are. The squad I run with in BF2C would laugh as we distracted you while one of us flanks you and paddles you

We played a 25 vs 25 match 2 weeks ago. We didn't field a single sniper the other team had multiple snipers. What happened? We won ever round by atleast 250-0 and those snipers got knifed.

Nah, posts by <<R2>>Capt.HKS and Rock_FU reminded me why I stopped playing competitively in the first place. Its become boring as hell and I dont need to be reminded of that at all. I will pass on the request to the WOoKie's to see if any of them are interested. I know a couple of them can work magic in the Helo's.

dude you are such a douchebag, obviously youre reffering to me. #1, if youve ever played project reality you would realize that ALMOST EVERY SINGLE MATCH IS AS SERIOUS AS TOURNAMENT MATCHES. The PR guys never fool around, we all use teamwork to the max, listen to our orders. just like a real match.
#2, NO USE FOR A SNIPER EVER? what the **** do you have against snipers boy!? ever heard of scouting? claymore spamming? snipers are essential for finding out whos where and what theyre doing when the UAV is not available, and a serious commander would already have his hands full giving orders and thinking up tactics than to spend the whole round spotting like so many bad commanders do.

There is no use for a sniper in a match, ever! You won't see Team Dynamic, Team Warchild or 20ID ever field a sniper and there is a good reason why. I don't care if your the best sniper in the world you are useless in a match!

You are an idiot. already said, snipers are the scouts and the claymore spammers. the claymore is the BEST WAY to defend a flag when youre needed elsewhere. plus, claymores are like warning signals, if both of the claymores you set at a flag go off almost simultaneously, then chances are there is a whole squad attacking the flag, and you can warn the commander so he can either send in artillery or air support, and take care of it without wasting valuable manpower retaking it.

Youre a douche. those snipers got knifed, because like most snipers, theyre frickin retarded, and dont bother to jump up and turn around with pistol/knife when they hear footsteps near them.

oh yeah, also i forgot to mention that because the sniper is ahead of its squad scouting out a control point, they can advise on best possible tactics to use (ex. where to enter from, if the enemy is grouped, grenade spam or no, where to hide while taking the flag, ect.)

oops also forgot to mention too, since i just read the threads about apparently how most of these people hate snipers, and *laugh at them while my buddies flank them and shockpaddle them* just reminded of another good sniper use.

live bait. got 2 squads ahead on the road of your single squad? have the sniper lead them on a little chase! the sniper shall run , squads shall follow for a while, then YOUR squad gets behind them, bam, they are owned.

PR is pubbing not match play. I'm sorry that you don't know that snipers are useless in match play because you haven't played a "real" match you wouldn't know that. I guess that counts you out of match play with any "real" teams that know the deal.I'm not going to argue with a sniper extraordinaire :laugh: Especially with someone who can only attempt lame insults.
