I don't see anything in taking one side's names away.
Leave them or take them all away (both sides).
Someone mentioned Project Reality earlier.
If you have no tags, you have to listen to language and look at their uniforms.
A result if that would happen:
- Sniping gets less interesting
- TK's go up
But if you ask yes or no tags: I would leave them away.

Yeah I got PR the first time I got like 12 Tk is one round xD.
Then I got used to it, and now I have no problems, I just don't see why you should take em off for vBF2
Name tags appear the same for everyone, forgetting the red tag bug. Its one of the few items in this game that has almost no problems. I say leave them the way they are. . . . . . . . . .Red
Team name tags are on constantly, providing your within a certain range of them. ill use sniper as an example- the only time enemy name tags show up is when you have the cross hairs on that person. whereas with team players, its when you aim within the vicinity of them. the problem that i have seen mentioned alot is the delay of which these tags appear. call me a noob, but one time, i scoped at about 200m where all i could see was body outline, (no uniform featues) and no name appeared at all. i obviously fired, got the headshot but it happened to be a team mate:laugh: yes i was embarrased and that player later made a bee line to get me as he thought i was picking on him when he saw where i had fired from
So. my opinion is that enemy tags should be removed, providing team players tags come up quicker than they currently do. otherwise just leave them
I think the most I notice the tags when you shouldn't be able to see someone is Karkand. You can slowly move your crosshairs around the fog to see the tags of enemies outside view distance. I've had APCs and tanks shoot me from out in the fog, and it's pretty irritating.
Don't get me wrong... and I think a couple of comments are getting off the point...
My main point is that you get seen because of your id tag above your head..
Do we really need a tag above our heads as the enemy??
Seeing the tag of a comrade on your own side if fine :) but why do we need to see the enemy tag, we only need to know who is on our own side.. right?
So not to TK them..
If enemy name tags were removed it would enable either side more freedom to ambush , hide, etc etc.
Most people so far agree that it is very irritating to get killed just cos someone spotted your tag.. I also think it makes the game a little to arcade
The end result is what is the point of the enemy tag other tahn to say "I'm the enemy" so if there is no tag for them... it still represents the same point..
No tag "hi I'm still the enemy" lol
Think about it... when you move in a squad there are several tages to be seen!
I also know some are going to say they are not always visable etc ... don't get off the point.. the point is.. Why have enemy tags..
well here's my final word on the matter... it does make a difference..
I've been playing Project Reality and all I can say is it rocks compared to BF2.
BF2 is good [most of the time] but PR is absolutely brilliant.. and the team play is second to none.. seriously.. PR is everything that anyone who wants more than just arcade fun from a FPS.. As I have said before don't get me wrong BF2 is a great game.. but Project Reality has ALL the nice touches and the maps are great..
All in all if you are sick of the advert of death.. [the name tag] above your head and you want good team play with GOOD players.. then PR is the mini mod...
