Suddenly switching teams?

I have been in a few rounds where we are playing for example as the USMC against MEC when all of a sudden i die and when i come back my team are MEC and playing against USMC.

It happened last night when we were all over them and they had only one base left we were storming when i die.....spawn back and my whole team are the MEX team we were just hounding and now we only have the one base left.

Any ideas?

Team balance...

It's trying to keep the number of players equal on both teams. Someone either joined and kept clicking on the USMC until they could select a kit and spawn, or people kept leaving the USMC.

Unless a server owner comes in with better information, that's the best I can give.

yeah thats right. Team auto balance. Some serves have it running some don't. I do believe it shows you as you load into the server just above allow global unlocks. It does suck at times for the odd individual but mostly it keeps the team sizes balanced and fair.

... or maybe some server admins switching your team in BF2CC.

That's not true in most cases and is another BF2 myth. When you see autobalance 0, sure the default AB is off but the server is more than likely running smart balance instead. It does a much better job of keeping the teams balance with the added benefit of being able to add player tags or names so they never get team switched again.

If they aren't running SB then the teams would get lopsided and never balance.

The teams are always pretty balanced, maybe 3 or so more on one team..but i dont see how that means they suddenly get all the flags we had and then we are taken over and lose the round within say a minute.

if they balance the teams shouldnt they move the odd player to the other team? not switch the whole teams.....thats what i meant...i didnt swap sides....the teams switched...

Last night 5 of us were in =ESU= Kubra Dam and it kept happening to our whole squad. We swapped teams about 5-6 times during 1 round. It was pretty annoying.

It didn't switch the entire team, or give anyone any flags. It just moved YOU to the other team....Unless you know 100% for a fact that everyone you were just playing with got moved to the other team with you. Then I have no idea. But either way, the teams just switched, it has nothing to do with flags.

Well we are all on xfire team speak. When you have 5 people in a squad and all of a sudden upon death 4 of them get switched from USMC to MEC, that makes a bit of difference on how ya play that round. It sucks, you may have been fighting for a particular flag with your squad then all of a sudden now your defending it? Really sux cuz there's no more secrets in team speak after that, lol.

That could still happen if the other side was disconnecting like flys, and the auto-balance kicked in ...a weird coincidence for sure (that the whole team switched). I was in a server last night that, at the end of each round, would scramble each side, guys had to reorganize and were switching all over the place. That was really annoying. If you get in or make a squad, the odds of getting switched goes way down. What I usually do is play lone-wolf if I'm not on the side I want, hoping to get switched, and then be sure to be in a squad if I am where I want to be.

This can only be done at the start of a new round. You can't switch the teams during a round. You got switched when you died so it would keep the teams balanced. 9.999999/10 this is done automatically and not by an admin.
