but wat about PR cuz PR maps are like 10X larger so it takes up a lot more memory

Everyone has their different opinions of the mod, I for one support.
Still definitely go for 2gb+ just get as much RAM as you can afford. :)

Check my stats below almost the same only 2 gb of ram and i run everything on High 1280 x 1024 no problems. so yes ram is the key

I have 2GB of ram, running almost everything on medium at 1680x1050. Textures is on high. I could use a little more though.

wtf?! How'd you get the game to go to 1680x1050? As far as I know BF2 doesn't support widescreen.

Plus the biggest reason you'll have your video lag is because of the super High Res. I've got 2 gigs of ram, a 2.2 Ghz Processor, and a 7600 GT, running on High @ 1024x768, and I still get some lag on Al Basrah. That's the only map though.

Anyways i know for a fact that 2gigs of ram is good for games now but later on for other high spec games like QW,Stalker and Crysis need a full 4gigs of ram to run to the best of their performance as well as needing a good GPU,CPU and Sound card:)

wtf?! How'd you get the game to go to 1680x1050? As far as I know BF2 doesn't support widescreen.

you can edit your shortcut settings to force wide screen onto BF2 :)

I have 3.5 gigs of RAM that I can use in my new computer... however I dont have a video card. What kind should I get. Also im on a budget here <:I

oo we have pretty much teh same rig now cuz i just got another gig. everything's running fine tho i mite up some settings to see how much i can handle

You could try the, Radeon X1950PRO or Nvidia 7900GS for around $135.
