I have recently been playing a lot of Gulf of Oman, this is because I want to become a proffesional chopper whore :yay: Yet, I have mixed feelings about this map. I like it for choppers (only map I can survive on right now) , but asides from that there is not much good to it. What does everyone think about it?
I said great. Awesome design, lots of tactical areas, allows for many playstyles. Getting randomly bombed by jets gets a bit annoying on the beach, but its tolerable. One of the few maps in BF2 that I would rate as great or exceptional.
its an amazing map. its the only map that isnt exactly "mirror" balanced, which makes things interesting (excluding those head on maps or whatever). MEc has less flags, and a bomber, while the US has 2 fighters.
For some reason its hard to find teamworking squads on that map though.
Yeah, I thought there might be more teamwork on a map like Oman. Big and wide open with at least one of the bases easy prey you might expect to find some good squads. Oh well, can't have it all.
It's a great map, but idk I don't like it for choppers that much, I prefer wake and kubra for choppers, but I love it for jets. F-35B/MiG-29, good combo. Mig > F-35B still obviously.. but it's a relaxing break from the J-10.
