Why do you want a patch, everything works, there are only minor bugs, but thats the same for most games?

Guys, its now 2 whole years (to the day), since BF2 came out, they are not going to release another patch. Because, if they did, it might screw up even more stuff which means they would have to spend more time fixing it, which as a BUSINESS (yes, a thing that aims to make a profit), they do not want to have to do.

I don't really need a new patch, but I think they will rlease a FINAL patch and then end the patching support for BF2. They will add the new map in the patch and that's OK.
maybe they will fix some of the glitches and add something new.

I don't have any problems with BF2, I just don't like certain gameplay issues.

Dunno about a patch, but when you install the Tampa map it says something about Mappack 1. So maybe they are only going to release a small number of maps a couple of times. Should have asked the guys at TotalBF2 to organize such a thing seeing as we already have 3 mappacks here.

I think EA/DICE are just trying to have people keep playing this game and not spend money on QW (which also includes a ranking system online). But seeing as how EA is unwilling to involve the established communities of sites like TotalBF2, I pretty much dont care what they do anymore. Its a scenario that reminds me too much of Day of Defeat and how the complete mapping community was neglected in beta testing of DoD:Source.

i cant remember the full dialog from last night where i and some others quized one of the Dice guys when we saw them on the TV2 server, but they are never going to change the BH guns back so HAHA :p ,

The map is 2 years old. It is not new; therefore, why
would they waste cash on new veh/weap.

If they made a 1.5, then they would have to commit
to at least one more patch.... 1.5.1 a hot fix for the
new CTD and bugs 1.5 will cause. LOLS!

All i would like to see is greater support for modders. It is them who will continue to make EA money out of BF2.

EA have to weigh up the opportunity costs of continuing BF2 support instead of building BF3.

I don't think I'd care if they released a new patch.. all they'd do is **** up the lmg's and AA even more, and STILL leave the G36E/J10 untouched.

DICE fail at patching. It's a fact.

I concur with Benis, a rare thing.

And to add, the map is months, if not years old. It is recycled content to get rid of the "no patch rumors".

Only in Battlefield can a company release a map and everyone go crazy :laugh:

Better resource managment, seriously, the engine sucks ***. Atleast some optimizations from BF2142 would be nice.
I hope they make the game a tad bit more realistic. You know, guns that actually shoot where you aim, no dolphin-diving, etc.
Don`t really care about jets and helis, for some reason I rarely get killed by them, altho I`m right in the middle of the attack.

Oh, and, give modders better access to the engine. I mean, the whole ****ing game is hardcoded.

How about bug fixes instead of nerfing and new gameplay, IMO they really need to fix the game first, but I doubt there will be a patch anyway.
