    Re: The God Damn Grid

Before you jump the gun here, I have an iMac, 95% of the time running OSX because I use it as I'm a graphic designer and in my experience I prefer to use a Mac when it comes to designing. 3x as much? Don't be daft, sure my MacBook Pro set me back abit more than £500 a crappy windows laptop costs, but you get what you pay for.
Anyways, this thread isn't about Mac vs Windows... if you want one of them there are plenty of sites with Windows Fans trying to slag off Mac's... go to one of them and have your say :)

I'm not really trying to rag on mac's at all they are good for graphic design I know I use one lol but here in Canada they do cost around 3 times more then a pc of similar nature.

Anyway you cannot change the DPI of your mouse if its not made to do so. Most mice that aren't made for gaming won't have customizable DPI settings. Your run of the mill mouse that comes with your pc/mac is going to be doing around 350-500 DPI allot of the newer after market mice these days are 1600-2000 DPI so pretty much id trash that mac mouse and pick up a gaming mouse. You can get a decent corded (i always suggest corded if possible) one for like 30-40 bucks and that should solve allot of your aiming problems.

Any particular come to mind? I don't know any decent brands for a mouse, I'd just end up buying something expensive and presume it is what I need :s

duuno if youve been given the answer yet but if mouse/cursor movement is notchy and not smooth you need to use a higher dpi mouse.
i have an mx300 800dpi and mines ok.

Any Logitech model like the MX510, MX518, G5 or G7 would do wonders. Especially with a good mousepad.

I like my logitech mx518 ($50 Canadian)it goes up to 1600 dpi and has buttons to let you change your DPI on the fly to whatever settings you want up to 5 presets its been great for me no problems at all I also hear the G5 ($80 Canadian) is pretty good, of course the Razor mice are also great but its really all about personal taste id look up some of the products if I was you and read some reviews figure out which one suits you most. A good mouse surface is also very handy don't go to costly on it though I wore out a 60 dollar aluminium pad in like 6 months :\

I'd recommend a variable acceleration mouse as well. My Logitec allows me to slow it way down for use with high precision sensitive events.

Can you not do that with any Logitech mouse as long as you have Setpoint software (which comes with the mouse)

simple answer if you find your just missin his head move ur person a bit to the left or right then the grid moves so that his head is on a cross point. one of the sniper school vids on youtube talks bout it

It's actually more convenient if you have a couple of extra buttons to manually set the acceleration. I generally only use the slow acceleration change for precision point (ie sniping, single-shot range, etc).

By the Grid system, he is talking about a system that a guy used in BF2 to get Acc shots with the sniper rifles. He is talking about the videos that show how to snip and what to use, Sniper School is the name of the videos.

Uh no, he's talking about his mouse skipping pixels.
