ok hitman, my question to you is, how are you with the PKM? when i unlocked it, i found that it handles differently to the PKM and couldnt hit anything. (note this is while i had been playing with the PKM regularly) and not just picked it up some day. if you like the support guns, then i guess you should get on fine with it. obviously its likely that it will take a while to get used to but thats the case with all other guns. (bar the G36E ) but yer, if your answer to the question was along the line of 'good' then i think youd be fine with it.

What's wrong with the SAW? I love that gun! You've no idea how many times I've been accused of aimbotting because I know how to use the damn thing.

Simple tip, works for me: go prone, zoom, and burst/single fire it by tapping your mouse lightly. Using this I've outsniped snipers repeatedly. I don't understand why that gun is so hated.

i actually hit **** with the PKM. i use the saw for supressive fire, even though it doesnt work lol, they still run our and I don't hit them. how is the 3 shot burst on it? is it accurate, if that is accurate then it will be like a PKM, to hit stuff, and the full auto to be like the SAW, would that be an accurate way to describe it???

The SAW is statistically the best support gun.

In practice, of course, the RPK and PKM rule. Though the M249 is one hell of a close combat killer, you don't need to prone.

I like MG36, though it is weaker than the PKM/RPK. Mainly for me it's the sound of the thing I like - sounds smooth. The PKM/RPK sound like rusty clunkers, and that the next shot is going to make it fall apart.

No denying PKM/RPK have more punch than the MG36, but I like MG36 in CQC. It does well sniping long range with a patient trigger finger.

MG36 is "ok". In my experiences, it doesn't stack up against the RPK or PKM, but it's still decent killing machine. Just remember, it's not the size of your gun, it's how you use it.

Some of us like to try every gun, it's fun to play with a weaker gun, than the standard 'easy' gun. I play every weapon in BF2, depending on my mood.

Mg36 is ok.

I recently started playing IO and using the support after 600 hours of playing or so. When did the RPK-74 become an absolute beast? In early patches it used to be pathetic, now it's very accurate and deadly.

1 vs 1 against anything other than a sniper from range, it's the best weapon period.

I like the RPK better, it over powers the MG36 i think. Use the RPK, play as MEC, you will find that the RPK is a very very good Support gun, and i think it is the best support gun. The M249 SAW is fun too, but RPK wins overall.
