Re: Great game, PICE OF SH** ADMINS.

I'm running into this more and more. I don't mind servers making up rules, I don't always agree with them but will abide by them. What I don't like is admins or clan members that don't follow there own rules. There is no recourse because if you say anything you get kick/banned. My though is if your going to make rules, everyone should have to follow them.

Sorry, but that is taking a really narrow, pesimistic view of the server situation and trying to find a good server. If it comes to it and you can't find a good server, but you still want to play a game, then maybe one day you're going to have to play on an IO or 24/7 server. They're not all bad.

Also, most people aren't that fussy. Im sure you would agree that a lot of people play for stats, which means that they are happy on any server as long as they are building up their gold medal collection. (Dont get me wrong, there was once a time that i thought stats were brilliant, but now i play for a laugh)

I play mostly on servers where I know the guys who run it, mainly because i play the same servers and have gotten to know them. If you play the with the same people they tend to be more forgiving and generally make the gaming experiance better... Just an idea to stop the retarded kick reasons...

Yeah I agree, almost all servers are run by bad admins.

Come over to TA and enjoy some no-rule fun! (just no tking/cheating etc..)

I can feel your pain in this instance. I think everyone can atest to being a victim of a crappy admin. Have hope though, there are good servers out there. Our team is no nonsense about our rules and have even kicked one of our own clan mates when they didnt follow the rules.. When they can't lead by example by following the rules, they dont need to be there. But more times than not, clans go for quanity rather than quality for a teammate. I rather have 10 guys who are team players and can work together than 40 that all they are worried about who is going to get the jet next.

Ummm, alarm bells are ringing in my head: what about yours??

You don't mind totalitarian servers and arbitrary rules created by a small elite who laugh as you try your best to follow them, only to get kicked anyway?

Not to offend, but that's how dictators and police states remain in power. Everyone repeat after me: behhhhhhh.

It's actually a fairly realistic view of the server listing. On a good day, I had trouble finding 30 servers to play on with the following filters:

              - Ranked
              - Same version only
              - Populated
              - Not full
              - Same mod
              - Punkbuster
              - Large maps (air wh0re)

It will pick up around 200 servers. Of which, approximately 125 have less than the desired minimum amount of players for a good game. Of the properly populated ones, 60% will be running a city map or Karkand... so we eliminate 45 or so and we're left with 30 servers to choose from. The remaining servers are usually the very popular ones like DMOC, FHM, CMx, et cetera. You shouldn't have any difficulty finding a Dalian map, but what if you fancy some Kubra or Fushe? Almost non-existent. If you don't like your two options, you're pretty much sh*t out of luck, huh? What about competition? High caliber players usually play on the same 3 or 4 servers... so if it's a sh*tty night, you're stuck getting kicked out of servers for "hacking", ie. being too good.

Trust me. As an air wh0re, I can tell you how bad it is... so telling people to "move on" isn't always easy. It is, if all you play is Karkand.

LMFAO exactly....u hit it right on the head.....i think a majority of the ppl who say 'find another server' play karkand or IO with 10+ players....and have no problem finding another server....but anyone who likes all the maps, with vehicles, and 30+ players are SOL

the more rules there are the more ways they can be misinterpreted by a jaded admin. the best thing to do is find a server you like with acceptable rules and strike up conversations on voip with the admins, get to know them and be friendly. thats your best defense against finding a jaded one. if all else fails you can stick with the no rules severs but depending on the map it can get out of hand.

Dude, getting on TS or VENT to suck up to admins is BS and 'tis why I'm never found on clan's VOIP servers. If they wanna kick me or ban me for breaking their illogical rules then so be it. I'm not gonna throw my dignity away for a fuqqin video game.

being friendly and mature doesn't mean you have to suck up and throw away your dignity, your just pissed because i called you out when you bragged about a iron gator chopper whoring score yet your team lost the match.

Do you know why that is? Because when you're going on VOIP to "strike up a conversation" with an admin, you're basically sucking his d*ck. I don't want to be your friend, nor do I want to fake camaderie in order for you to look the other way in situations that would normally warrant kicks or bans.

I want you to take the game as it is and let people play it within the boundaries of the game mechanics.

Baseraping, among other completely legal things players can do in the game, just happens to be something that DICE has implicitly accepted by not limiting attacks on uncaps, so I don't need an admin with a complex telling me what I can or cannot do based on some stupid, arbitrary rule.

Giving admins the right to make their own little rules was the biggest mistake DICE and EA did. I want you to understand that what I posted here is nothing personal: you might be a great player and admin...

as long as there are server providers making money and people having pay for these servers it wont happen. its the server owners right, they are paying for the server and thats why they are called house rules, if you do not agree with them or feel you can not follow them do not join the room. to do what your purposing games would have to cost up words of $500 to pay the peoples salary to police them.

i was attempting to be a little sarcastic also, sure there are bad admins, people that should of never been given admin privileges without proving they can practice tolerance against just plain good players or being at a major disadvantage in game, it happens to everyone but not everyone can deal with it.

on the other hand there are a hell of allot more bullsh!tters out there that completely lie when they tell their story about their kick. you have to take these "i got kicked" stories with a grain of salt, 85% of the time they are not telling you the whole story and they really were acting like a smacktard in one way or another.

i guess i should of rephrased my original post, i didn't necicerely mean communicate with admins as much as i meant communicate with players who share the same clan tags as the server or regular players, the ones paying the bill. non communicators and lone wolves are the first to get kicked when room needs to be made in most servers. this game is all about team work and communication. if you show your a dedicated or serious player people will think twice when someone completely lies and accuses you of tking or forcing a tk, like happens all the time. i cant even begin to fathom the times ive seen people flat out lie about not forcing a tk when i watched them do it with my own eyes.

of all the people ive ever seen take hard lines on the subject the majority have never helped or donated to a server financially and have no intention of ever doing so. these things do not pay for themselves and as long as someone else is footing the bill and theres another guy making money you are gong to be subject to their rules. you might have bought the game, you did not buy the right to play it online, hell, you dont even own whats on the disc, just the physical disc. without someone paying for that server there would be nowhere to go, if it doesn't say EA in the name, some poor guy had to pay for it.

I see no relation between paying to host a server and having the right to make arbitrary rules. The only reason you have the latter is because EA gave you that right: the idea that you would not purchase a server based on a lack of rule-making freedom is laughable at best, and I won't expend any energy expounding on that, as it's pretty clear.

I often solo the heli without communicating with the commander or any other squads. Despite this, I win rounds: are you going to kick me because I don't feel the need to use my mic?

Just nitpicking on my part, but I thought it deserved to be mentioned.

i guess you just dont see the big picture, perhaps when you help pay for a server you will. you seem to be the thorn in this entire thread so i certainly expect you disagree with anything i say but now your just being ridiculous.

no offense but if you dont see the relation between paying for a server and having the right to make inhouse rules you need a basic economic course. these rules are monitored, anyone can report them for abuse and they have to be within reason. theres a whole list of guidelines they have to follow, its all in the roe, check it out. you act as if anyone can make any rule they please, that is not the case and i have yet to see any "Arbirtrairy" rules, most are within reason and just require some common sense to follow, they are there to promote fair fun play.

with the logic your displaying speed limits are just a suggestion and you would go as fast as you please and then try to fight a speeding ticket just because you bought your car an none can tell you how to drive it.

shell out $20 or $30 bucks a month for a year or two contributing to a few servers, you'll see the point. and yes, lone wolves should be kicked on sight and lone chopper gunning is even worse, theres nothing more anti team than lone chopper gunning, especially when there are people asking for ride. the only time lone gunning is acceptable is when noone will gun for you but thats not usually the case, usually its one cocky pilot who takes his gunner out of bounds to kill him so he can tvguide alone because he thinks hes hot sh!t. i dont care how good you think you might be at tv guiding, it has two seats for a reason and the game has voip to be used for chopper pilots who should always be communicating, a chopper pilot not using voip with his gunner to nail targets is a detriment to any team.
