Sense everyone is confussing you, the real order of the games are
BF1942> BFV> BF2> BF2142
BF1942 and BF2 are good and are still good to play, Also BFV is good and still has a storng commuity around it.
BF2142 is not as good, More problems, More idiots, and More patches that do more hurt then good.
BF2, BFV, and BF1942 are your best bet.

Yeah, the number of players still playing BFV is surprising when you remember there was little to no hype of the game.

it mite be too late, but u should try the demo for bf2 and bf2142. tho theyre not exactly the same as the games they are now, it will give u a sense of wat its like and how ur computer can handle it

Regardless, it was better than any other Battlefield game in many ways.

It had it's good/bad moments. Saigon (that new map they included) was pretty coll with the tunnels.

Oh heh, sorry about that. When I was talking about ignorance I was talking to those people who say all the Battlefields suck but BF2, where they can play as super-medics in IO mode.

But about your reply, you cant really compare those mods to this game. Im not telling people to buy it, just proving that it wasnt near as bad as people say it is.

The negative stigma, apart from the n00b-friendliness of it, is due to EA just hopping off BF2 and onto BF2142 like a whore on a nerd that just ran out of money.

That hate is justified. I would be upset too if I had been playing a game for awhile, with patches that solve one problem and make 5 more, only for the developers to leave a still-broken game to make another one.

That being said, I have all the Battlefield games, and I love them all. They are the only games that I seem to be good at, and will continue playing them despite how much EA/Dice ****s it up.

And I will add this, an 84% on Gamerankings is not "sux ballz"

Battlefield Vietnam was an excellent game with a lot of potential the shame was that the company dropped it after a few patches, I love playing that game and still do as it sure beats the chopper/plane whores of bf2 along with absolutely no rank system that made it the best game out there for anything close to "modern" combat. The game would have held the test of time had the company released patches that fixed the faults in the game (much like battlefield 2) instead they released a few patches that fixed the minor problems with the game (again much like battlefield 2), had the major problems been fixed with this game it would have been the best EA game to date. The major problem being the company support for the game they released...either way the game is still fun to play by far funner than battlefield 2.

i got bf2 and the expansion special forces....i have great fun with both of them, they both are quite popular and have alot of populated servers...

the downside to bf2, i think is the crappy cone of fire and random deviation for bulllets, making it difficult to kill the enemy lined up perfectly in your sights...also, in many servers, there are griefers and people who TK for vehicles, and admin who abuse their guests and kick/ban for little/any/no reason.....

special forces i think has more experienced and mature players and admin....making it a much better experience.....
another thing BF2 offeres, is IO (Infantry Only) mode, where the vehicles and artillery are removed...

if i were you, i would buy BF2 and Special Forces....

BF2 and BF1942 are about equal to me, simply because of all the external features for BF2. In terms of pure gameply though (not taking into account graphics), BF1942 kicks BF2's ***.

And as many people have said on this thread, BF2142 sucks balls.
