I still like BF2142 even though the choppers suck and theres no planes. I think the gameplay is alot smoother and the hit boxes far more accurate. I've been playing alot of BF2 lately and noticed alot of inconsistencys with the above said.

I think the best way to look at 2142 is as a COMPLETELY different game than BF2. It still sucks.....but you just cant compare them to each other.

Just play BF2. I have all 3 and regret buying 2142. By that I mean really regret it and wish it never existed. 1942 was incredible for it's time but i'd like to say BF2 is the best for the current year.
