    Armor rating of classes?

I've been Googling like mad, but can't find any information on the armor ratings of each class in BF2.

For me, it's always been quite weird trying to kill snipers. For some reason, they're able to stay alive longer, or it takes more shots (that are seen) to take them out, then say a supply guy or assault.

Maybe they're just faster runners, so hits don't register as well, I dunno, wanted to see a list to confirm what the armor is.

not according to any sources, i think i have answers:

Soldiers either have armor or not, 100% or 0%.
    Unarmored:
    -Medic
    -Engineer
    -Special Forces
    -Sniper
    Armored:
    -Anti-tank
    -Assault
    -Support

Now all classes run the same speed. The ones without any armor run 1/3 longer than those with armor. I dont think the armor levels are different to certain degrees depending on class.

yeah u can also see it in the number of shaded bars in the kit selection screen. 3 bars = unarmored and 2 bars = armored. u can also see it in the player models..the armored ppl have like a thick tannish vest while the unarmored just have a green camo vest

Does a high dexterity or agility give any bonus to armor class?

it might be harder to kill snipers if they are prone. and you either have a longer sprint and no armor or are armored but have shorter sorints preety simple.

              Lol...

In games like Diablo and Everquest and probably even WoW, you can gain extra armor for increasing certain stats like dexterity as opposed to strenght or health.

No such stats exist in BF2... It's not RPG. It's FPS.

Could it have to do with the player models? For instance the support players have more mass and thus should be easier to hit even if they have armor. Then on the reverse side, the snipers are thin which makes them harder to hit.

That combined with the hit box problems and lag may give the impression of a more "armored" target?

I noticed something similar to what ent|ty mentioned. I shot a player 4 times with a sniper rifle while he returned fire. He didn't die. In most cases, a bullet or two is enough. He wasn't healing himself and he was lying on a hillside so I don't think anyone else was healing him. I figured it was a bug, or my latency or something and let it go.

My elvin cleric gains a +2 to armor class due to a 17 dexterity.

Perhaps. I'm just trying to figure out why a sniper can run into my bullets and live long enough to plant a claymore in my face, while the assault guy or supply guy (with supposedly more armor) go down faster.

I'm not making this up, after 2 years of playing BF2 it's been a pretty consistent quirk.

I've literally thought "there must be an immunetodamage-while-planting-claymore bug" since it happens mainly when they are in the action of laying a claymore...

It could be a matter of latency and hit registration, but like I said, it's very consistent against snipers in close combat.

lol, if they're wearing armour, there is a body armour sign in the small squares on kit selection screen, the 3 bars are the amount of sprint

True but the amount of sprint is directly tied to whether they have armor or not. (Note that this may not be the case in mods though.)
