As have I. My connection was screwed up for about 9 months, and my job was taking up all of my time. I got a better connection, and a better job, then started playing again.

Fun all over. One of my fave things to do after a long night shift.

i also quit bf2 to play 2142 and i also went back to CSS for a little bit, but now here i am back home with BF2

Count me in. I played 2142 for about 6 months. During that time I also moved from Hawaii to Florida. I finally got my household goods (and purchased a new home :banana::banana::banana::banana::banana::banana::b anana: ) about two weeks ago. One of the first things I did was reinstall BF2 (the discs were in my household goods). Not only have I fallen in love again with BF2, but I also reinstalled BF42 DC mod and am enjoying that again as well after a two year hiatus. BF2142 has been deleted.

As for those who say the squad system was better with BF 2142...Yes the squad leader beacon and squad point system was great, but I have found more teamwork with BF2 squads.

Unlocks just made everyone point whore even more, classes are not better, they just cut out the ones no-one used in BF2/combined those kits with other kits. Squad play is also the same as BF2's. Now, did you see the terrible cone of fire in BF2142? thats why we bash it, the game is made so noob friendly it is sad.

Eh, point whoring is the same in both games. What I meant was, in BF2142 you had to think about your unlocks, and you can get tools and stuff. In BF2, you basically ask yourself "Hmm, do I want the good good, the better gun, or the best gun?".

The class system as a whole is MUCH better. EA MEANT to put use into the otherwise useless classes. They wanted people to play engineer and anti tank, so they combined them. And there are actually 8 classes instead of less.

Squads are MUCH better handled. The VOIP is clearer (and works), the interface is easier, and there are squad leader unlocks, which means that a good squad can change a whole game. Not saying a good BF2 squad cant, but I would rather see a squad using unlocks and tactics win a game themselves rather than 6 guys on Teamspeak running around with L96s, G36Es, and PKMs.

And what about the cone of fire and the game being noob friendly? I dont understand

Not really I play 2142 and BF2 the same usally more of BF2 64 singleplayer but still I play them both and dont really care.

I played BF2 a long time ago, didn't dig it too much because I play Socom on the Playstation but I finally had to come back to something better.

I have been playing BF2 for a year and a half...I have never played any single game for that long before. If, for whatever reason I miss a day, it feels really weird, like something is missing. When will it end? ...I have no idea, maybe never. After a year and a half, I feel like I am barely half way to where I'd like to be. So, I can say, that I will play it at least another year and a half, and if it turns out to be ten ...then I may have to seek professional help.

Interesting scenerio with me. Got bored with BF2, went back to BF1942, then came back up to BF2, quit it and went to BF2142, then quit that and went to BF1942, then I decided to go back to BF2, then I went to BF2142 again. After all that you guess where I am now. Thats right, Train Simulator.:)

Anyone here besides me fallen back in love with BF2 after an extended period of leave. I know i have. I played 2142 for bout 6 months and now im back to BF2 and loving every minute of it.

I never stopped loving BF2. I played 2142 for about 6 hours so it was just an affair.
