Re: The Claymore Thread
This statement goes to show how ignorant you are. Whether you like or hate clays has absolutely nothing to do with your skill, nor does it mean a player doesn't play a sniper class.Originally posted by bazzamattazaPlayers thay hate clays tend to be the ones that are daft enough to run into them and never go sniper. I don't particularly like medics that have a negative KDR but mass points from reviving and healing alllll game.
Spamming means to excessively use a feature in a game, or in the case of nades "throwing them randomly and continuosly in hopes they hit someone". IfOriginally posted by bazzamattazaAnd by the way how can dropping 2 clays be described as spamming?? It's "2" FFS!!
10 of your consecutive kills involve claymore kills and nade kills, you could be considered a spammer, and certainly not playing a sniper, at least in the way the class should have been made by the game developer.
You need to stop assuming other player's play styles. I've never 'point-whored' in BF2 and Karkand or any other map has nothing to do with claymore discussions.Originally posted by bazzamattazaStop point whoring karkand as a medic and you won't have a problem with clays!!!
Have you been to the movies? They're not realistic either, but they still have to keep some level of 'believability' to them, or we will all just roll our eyes and say "as if". Don't tell me you go to the movies and accept EVERYTHING you see, even though you know the movies supposed to be fiction...Originally posted by bazzamattazaA medic reviving a dead person with shock paddles isn't realistic, getting shot in the chest from any assault, sniper, shotgun and surviving isnt realistic, neither is repairing a tank with a wrench....it's a GAME!!!
Take Transporter 2 for instance. The guy drives his car at full speed off a parkade building, uses something on the way off the building to flip his car upside down, and uses a crane hook to knock off the bomb attached to the bottom of his car.
Sure the movie is not reality, but I'm sorry, that is just not 'believable'. Noone's arguing realism here, so quit falling back on that tired old argument. Just because a game is not real, doesn't mean it shouldn't at least have some semblance of reality - since BF2 is designed after a modern warfare model.
But hey, I took your troll bait. Good job.
I guess reality or even 'believability' is not a basis for modern game development. It's like they don't even try to make it believable. It's like playing World of Warcraft and having a priest or mage who can charge into a group of enemies at the front lines, and actually live to tell about it. Game classes are so ****ed up nowadays, I'll applaud any game that actually specializes the classes again - with strengths and weaknesses so that 'combat medics' and 'combat snipers' are a thing of the past.Comment

Re: The Claymore Thread
i hate clays used in the 'open field'
if i am out in the sticks and get clayed then i accept that the sniper has used it to defend his location or recent location as teh case might be.
though in vehicle servers i'd prefer explosives ff to be off becasue otherwise AT miens become useless weakening the eng class a bit more
but on IO i feel that explosives ff should be on, for the time that our server was on IO we had clays FF on and after teh guys realised we never had clay spam at all.Comment

Re: The Claymore Thread
clays are great for snipers when used as a tool of defense....not something u use as a primary weapon and throw at ppl on the frontline who are firing automatic weapons at you...
they should be destroyable, but not by grenades, they wouldnt survive 15 seconds on an IO map where the storm of nades spam every inch of the frontline in maps like karkand, jalalabad, and mashtuur.....they should be destroyed by C4, tank shells, TV missles, and bombs.....and of course, the wrench (as it is now)
is it sharqi??
ppl love spending rounds at sharqi hopping up and down at their helipad.......usually in large groups of TKing smack-talkersComment

Re: The Claymore Thread
So why bother trying to cap it? The most important flag is the factory, when the USMC has it they have a huge advantage and the MEC are screwed. It drives me crazy when me and maybe one or two other guys are desperately trying to defend the factory against waves of enemy and I see lots of blue dots around the hotel.Originally posted by Neptune2 x 7 (give or take) snipers = 14 clays around the hotel flag = hard to cap.Comment
