Hate it, love it, dont know or dont care post about claymores!!

i think they are the stupidest thing in the game. I appreciate the fish boxes more than claymores. They are easy kills, cheap for that matter, set and forget and you get +2 kills, SKILLS. They arent fun to use at all, unless your a point whore, they piss your teammates off, pisses pretty much everyone off if ff is on, and are nothing but annoying. Why people use them? so they can get a pointless PNG image in their bfhq, along with those pictures of fake shiny metal.

What do you think of these pieces of crap?

I hate'em when I step on one, I love it when I kill with them.
The fun thing about killing with them is you know you piss of people like the OP. They save your snipers arse many times.

they are the cheapest thing in the game. in the patch before 1.2 you could blow them up with nades (i think) and EA should bring that back, but what do they care about customer support anymore? Also, one time, just to see how cheap claymores were, all I did one round was spam claymores the entire round, and ended up with 32 kills and and 22 deaths. They are the same principle as Hand Grenades, love to use them, hate when they are used against me. (as is for all of you i'm sure)

Blowing claymores up with nades would totally ruin IO.

Then again, who plays a mode that turns BF2 into Counter-Strike?

they are useful in some ways. like putting them at the tops of ladders, or even at the bottom just so people dont come try to kill you.

spamming them infront of the hotel at karkand though...thats f***ing annoying.

Claymores should be used by snipers for defensive purposes only - to protect them as they snipe.

That being said, they should disappear if the sniper becomes out of [predetermined] range of them, or when he dies.

Or, lower the sniper's armor to little more than nothing (like in real life), so that charging on the front line like an assault class is not possible, and you'll see fewer claymores planted at front line areas.

As of right now, even after 2 years of BF2, dunno if it's lag or not, but I can kill an assault class faster than a sniper, who seems to ALWAYS be able to stay alive long enough to plant both claymores...

I've always wondered if there was an immunity bug in BF2 in the deployment stage. A sniper seems to be invulnerable while in the action of planting. I've found the same thing happen when a medic is in the process of reviving. I've seen it many times and is somewhat disturbing. Maybe it can be reproduced, or it's lagging. Either way, I see the target get riddled with bullets, smoke puffs and all, and still live.
