VBS2 shares the same underlying game engine (Real Virtuality 2) as Bohemia Interactive's computer game ArmA: Armed Assault. The differences between ArmA and VBS2 are described on the VBS2 features page.

Honestly for 2000 dollars I think they could have done a way better job. I mean BF2 has better GFX. If you want something realistic go download PRMM its free and is pretty damn sweet

Its not an action fps like BF2 its a simulation, graphics are not the priority on these games, its the realism that counts.

The US military use this game to train their soldiers, do you really want the US army drooling over the graphics of the game or learning how to survive?

One thing I have never understood is why do people think BF2`s gfx are super-awesome. They`re crap to be honest. Even on ultra quality, then textures are boring, low resolution compared to alot of games, not detailed. The only thing good are animations and shadows.

Same thing on Half-Life 2 forums, people ALWAYS compare even the newst games and say they look like s*it compared to HL2. Even Doom 3 had better shadows, details, models, etc.

Damn fanboys.

Navras, judging a game`s level of realism by graphics is the most idiotic thing you can do. PRMM is awesome, I play it often myself, but it is nowhere near ArmA when it comes to realism.
