    details

Just this other day I discovered that my gfx card could handle much higher settings in BF2 (used to play at the lowest setting possible), so I started to use medium and high settings for textures and effects and lights. I join a game, and start to notice the small details added by higher settings. Pretty cool, just wondering if I've missed any, those I've noticed are

    1) gunsmoke
    2) shells ejecting when shooting
    3) additionel stuff inside the UAV
    4) an IR tower on the Abrams
    5) the different lightning

Btw the different lightning changes the gameplay a bit. When using the lowest setting on light, the whole map will become somewhat fullbright, which helps when playing maps with indoor areas, you don't have those dark corners no more.

Well I was pleasently suprised with the new settings, it looks somewhat of a whole new game. Much more fun to be commander, just to sit and admire the textures :P

Low lighting is almost like a cheat you can see things better ona lot of maps.

yeah the textures look great at high detail, my bro has an 8800GTX and can play BF2 on high at 1280 and still get 150 fps...looks brilliant with A-A

bf2 is capped at 100fps unlike most games, even using fraps its a constant 100. i dip to 98 for a second or so in the middle of an arty strike but really under 80 won't affect your gameplay.

you can unlock that cap using a console command

I never knew that, I wondered why it never went past 100 FPS. You live and you learn.

does anyone know the command?? some of us would like to see how high we can get, also if you are using the console you would likely have to put it in each time you start, which wouldn't really be feasable.
