Tactically speaking, it makes sense to do it. Of course, attention seeking, whining crybabies who're used to having their way with everything since birth nag and b*tch about it so much that admins pretty much have to step in and intervene. If it's in the game, it should be allowed. Ignore anyone who thinks or tells you otherwise.
Yes, it's frustrating... but f*cking deal with it.Comment

Re: Baseraping, what is it really? You decide.
I don't recall encountering baserape in BF2, only BF2142 and I didn't like it then.
Baserape is only that when it's an uncappable base being attacked. Personally, I view it as little more than spawncamping. When you have the entire enemy team surrounding your base you don't really stand much of a chance.
All right, once I managed to break through, called for people to join me; none did. Captured a rear base and promptly lost it because I was the only forking person doing anything!
Saying that people deserve to be baseraped is...a little unfair. I'm a team player, I join a squad and look for orders. I work with my team mates. Why, then, should I be held accountable for their incompetance?
I don't like it but I won't complain if people want to do it. I'll just leave and find another server.Comment

The whole point of this game is to win the round by attrition or flag capture: by effectively stopping the enemy from organizing his forces in order to attack flags, you're increasing your chances of success. I can't believe how p*ssyhurt you guys are about this.
I swear, most of you would go emo, curl up in a corner and listen to Linkin Park if you participated in competitive play. Holy crap...Comment

Correct. It helps winning the round and may be an adequate tactic.
BUT it still sucks to get raped

So when I went intot he uncap. base, blew up the commander assets twice, and then knifed the commander, and only the commander, is that baserape? I was watching him the whole time I was blowing up his stuff, as a matter of fact I heard him calling out, enemy forces spotted. If you are spec ops and go into an uncap with intentions to blow up their stuff, can you not defend yourself?? do you just hope nobody see's you? i mean holy crap. if thats what EA wanted spec ops to be they really need to lay off the tard juice.Comment

Re: Baseraping, what is it really? You decide.
normally the commander is alone in his base watching the commander screen. He may not notice the enemy spec ops.
I use to knife the commander and then blow up his assets. Then I leave the area. I consider it unfair the camp the uncap base, even if its only to blow up assets, at least on vehicle maps. On IO, where the commander ist normally fighting and not in the base I sometimes wait for the repairing supply box. and blow everything up again.
Nospawn areas like the arty island at dalian plant are perfect for blowing up the arty several times in a row, 'cause none will make the trip there just to repair and commanders use to drop supply crates to repair -> good to rearm your C4.

Re: Baseraping, what is it really? You decide.
Baseraping is the repeated attacking of enemy uncapable bases. So you are baseraping when you attack the uncabbable base then leave, then attack it again, then leave again, so if you are doing it repeatedly, but you don't stay there (within the base) for a longer time. Usually it only can be done with an aircraft or with the TV-missile of an attacking chopper. If you stay there for a longer time (eg. if you use the machine gun of the heli) you are not baseraping but basecamping.
Baseraping is often confused with spawnraping but it's a completly different thing. Spawnraping/spawncamping is the killing of an enemy right after he has spawned at a capable base and it is totally legal in my opinion. It's just a very good and often necessary tactic for supporting of the capture of an enemy flag.Comment

... or that it's time you man up and try different tactics to successfully repel the attack or stealthily make your way to a capture point. Either option requires you stop crying and do something about it.Comment

Sloi, this is a too general "tip" for a problem that occurs with different levels of difficulty to counter. Sometimes, yes, sometimes the teams are so uneven that you CANT "map up" and hit back. Stealthy approach to the flags are not an option once the enemy commander highlights you with a UAV and you can see enemy X asset approaching. God forbid if its a chopper
What I suggest is taking the fight in the base and scoring as much off infantry and armor as possible. You can have fun chasing them around in your uncap aswell.Comment
