i dont think so when i open the the serverbrowser in BF2 and BF2142 to check the amount of available servers

it seems that the majority of the ppl prefers BF2 because its plays in the present time.

For me thats the reason why i stopped playing BF2142 after ~50hours.
BF2 is more my game because it plays in the present and because i like the maps , guns and vehicles from BF2 way more than those from BF2142.

its not a secret that way less copies of BF2142 have been sold than expected.
i think that one other reason, besides the sci-fi theme, is that BF2142 is only a big mod for BF2.
so there were not that much new cool features or a fancy new Engine.
it is just a huge mod where you have to pay the price of a "full game".
seems to be the idea of the marketing department "how do we get much money asap, with very low costs".

Even though i still play bf2, I believe that 2142 is the way to go. Better graphics, less running and more intense battle is a lot better. I think eventually more peoople who find out about bf will go to 2142, it looks beta on first sight hehe

i don't agree with the above post that people will want to play 2142 as opposed to BF2. BF2 is a lot more fun to play, less complication, and as a noob u can come into the came with full access to grenades, shock paddles, and such. Graphics on 2142 may be better but that doesn't make it more intense to play.. BF2 is way more intense to play.

Acctually I love both as mentioned above.

But the game that dies first will probably be BF2142.

I love the game play in both and find that BF2142 is great "training" for BF2.

I don't like futuristic games but this one is pretty good.

The combat is fun and no prone b!t*hes or bunny hopers.

And the kits idea in 2142 is WAY better then BF2 though...that is the major thing that makes BF2142 popular...

ROFLMAO. And this is better in which way exactly? If anything, it DUMBED DOWN close quarters combat giving people 2 choices. A) strafe or B) crouch. Thats it. While in BF2 you had to HIT the diver if you chose to strafe, and the target you were about to shoot had high mobility. Which one takes more skill? Considering that both of these games are purely arcadeish, BF2142 loses in demand for skill department. Its infantry combat is sluggish, slow and restricting. As the soldiers wearing uncomfortable gear, the feeling was actually transferred to the movement, making the game a pain in the *** in infantry combat. While BF2 was (was) fluid and fast. BF2 infantry combat is HALF broken because whiners wanted so. BF2142 infantry combat is totally wrecked. And Xfire TOP10 list clearly shows whats the deal here.

WOW that reminds me of Armed assault.

Armed assault CQB combat and aiming sucks a lot.

Movement sucks, aiming is ****, etc, etc, etc.

2142 could'nt take over a post office on pension day.

Lol. The vehicules are too futuristic huh? Well anyway I like 'em and Tank battle is SO awesome with the zoom, I was picking off n00bs at past 400m !!!

But yeah nothing beats the good infantry combat as Camp Gibraltar does (The Karkand of BF2142).

So if anyone can tell me why I CTD and it says "Memory error coould not locate blablabla" so I can play, well thanks in advance!
