Well, I think that it is about time that a big mod recieves the "realism" treatment to jets. I think that if you would compare the speed of vanilla bf2 jets to actual real life videos, the speed is much slower in bf2. For obvious reasons, one being to make it easier to control and maneuver in combat. BUT- I think we would all like some SPEED with simplicity as well- My idea would be to have the jet go VERY fast, only when using afterburners, for a short time, but a long enough time to give you that "WOO HOO IM CLEARING A MILE A SECOND" fealing. If this can be pulled off, bravo. If/If not, I still think one main aspect that should be added to jets is the sonic boom. At least to the people on the ground. Trust me, super-realistic jet sound effects would add that "I love the smell of napalm in the morning" type of adrenaline rush to the mod. It can easily be pulled off, with easy and simple research on the sounds of a real sonic boom, and watching some youtube videos. If any of the mod developers wish to contact me about this, I will help do the majority of the work regarding planning and information on the way it should sound. All I need is for someone to record/make the sound in the propper format to install in a future update. I have always been a fan of the few games which can actually make you feel like your at an airshow. I will do anything to get this put into an update. At least the sonic boom effect. By the way, a PERFECT example of the speed that should be applied to the jets would be here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s-q_GONfChw. This is exactly what high speed jet action looks like, and I can verify this due to attending many airshows, studying aircraft, and having a long history of learning about real life military aircraft. If its too hard to make it like this video, I dont think the developers with PR would have anything against helping you guys out, with atleast some tips on how to make the nice effect they did. Watch that video, its worth it.
