Battlefield Ebay: A story of a regular BF2 player who got screwed.

    Hi. My name is Matt.

Ive been playing BF2 since it first came out - I spent about 70 or 80 bucks when it first retailed in canada to get a copy.

I played it regularly for about 6 months..then as all people do, I sortal laxed.

Few months later I went to reinstall...buit couldnt find my box or disks. sucks, but it happens.

I barter with my buddy for his copy (he just gave me the key) and I played BF2 happily with a mini image...eventually I left college, and my PC tanked, so I lost the key (after buying it twice now! oh well, it happens and it sucks)

SO eventually...I ebay another key. Bought one, installed, worked great...all was good, right?

    WRONG.

As some may have noticed I posted about being banned from punkbuster...after much communication with them, they tell me this:

''Note #5: I'm sorry, but this GUID ban was from what appears to be a leaked or stolen CD-Key. Another user was banned by PB on this GUID, and since you seem to have the same key, you as well. I can't lift this ban, as we already know this is a public key that cheaters use.''

public key? Wtf? this is the third time I bought this game..and everytime I just get screwed.

I think my time in BF2 is done. dont get me wrong, I love this game. but someone higher up there thinks I dont deserve to or something. Im tired of getting ****ed over. Im tired of reinstalling BF2.

...I guess I gotta settle down and fork over another fifty for retail at stores. whats this? about 150-200$ ive spent on this game.

Buyers beware, I assume the ebay ****head resold my key to someone else who got it banned or something.

I feel bad for you but with as strict as EA/PB is with cd keys, you should have known better than to buy one on ebay...

just buy the f*cking game and don't loose the key. how hard is that?

Did you leave college because you failed? Because anyone with a brain knows NOT to buy CD keys from ebay.

Ok, so lets see, where are the odds of getting screwed more? ...buying the game off E-Bay? ...or a new copy at a retail store? Has anyone sold something on E-Bay that wasn't what they claimed? ...set yourself up to get screwed, and then whine about it when it happens.

You can only blame yourself by buying parts of the game (i.e CD key) on ebay and such, do you really think it'd be 'legal'?

Next time do it the fair way and you'll be fine.

Karma got ya mate so to say...

I'll admit buying stuff off ebay is always a risky business.

But heres an idea for you.

Get the entire collection, BF2, Special Forces EX Pack, and the booster packs.

                    $40 US dollars. booya. lol.

All your problems are really your own fault. Since you have lost your CD-key twice and the third time bought it from eBay (which you should never do when it comes to serial keys...).

When you first buy it, write the CD key on the CD itself and on the box itself. Thats what I did and it works greatly. Also dont lend the game to anyone becuz you'll forget and then your screwed.

you bought a cd-key off of ebay? That's blatantly retarded. If anything, I'd go get one from a torrent site. Even though it wouldn't allow me to play online.

uh yeah, hate to break it to you. ea and punkbuster are outside your door waiting to kill you the moment you step outside. you know how they are about those cd keys...

I bought my CD key on eBay and it's been legit since 8/2005. You just need to buy from a respected dealer.

I'd suggest reporting that seller to eBay even though it's your fault for not knowing how to use eBay.
