I remember a rumor prior to the release of the second tier unlocks via SF. The MP7 was supposed to have (body-)armor piercing bullets. Anybody else remember that?

You have to hold the trigger down longer. You'll know the armor got pierced when the other fella screams and falls down.

I would unlock the mp7 because as an engineer, you have no other alternative for medium range fighting. Any situation where I would want the P90 over a shotgun, I could use the AT missle instead.

Why bother to say that the jackhammer or DAO-12 is better? (even though I agree.) That wasn't the question, and you're comparing apples and oranges anyway.

It depends , i use choppers/jets/tanks quite a bit so i use the mp7 and where i love to use shotguns say on karkand they lack range on say oman , hence the mp7 its not a great gun but when you use it right it can do some damage

Huh, always thought the P90 did slightly more damage than the MP7.

When it was first added the MP7 actually did more damage but it was reduced in a later patch so all SMGs are now equal in damage and RoF.

I believe they both have AP bullets in real life, but not in the game.

Its on BF2/SF.

And the MP7 requires a lot more skill and patience to use. P90 will get you more kills, but I prefer the MP7 because the engineer kit is so useful on so many maps.

Exactly. I roll with the Dao-12 whenever I'm AT, because practically nothing will defeat the DAO in CQB action. And you take people out easy at distance with the Beretta if you know how to aim. I've tried all the engineer weapons and nothing wins me more up close and personal firefights than the MP7. It has a rate of fire from hell.
