i can see both sides of the story

- for you its a bit harsh to get kicked when you are obviously a decent pilot anyway

-for them they want a more teamwork orientated heli experience, how else they gonna achieve that unless they kick those that dont comply

Unfortunately reporting them would be useless as you have no documented evidence. Its a tough one - harsh and marginally unfair

tho u do have a good point, i dont see the need for a third party comminucation program when a perfectly functioning one is already in place in BF2 (VOIP)

if VOIP was not there already, i would somewhat understand their reasoning, but that simply is not the case....

Create a secondary account, constantly teamkill the one who banned you until you're satisfied.

Then when you get banned again, smile happily and move on with your merry life. You got your revenge.

You are right there is no NEED for the third party app. However, they had a ventrillo server up and running with all their clan chums already in and they wanted you in too. Its a shame, sounds like it could have been a good server if you are set up right

i should not be obligated to download, install, and learn how to use some third party program simply to fly a helicopter i payed for when i bought the game, in a ranked public server...

i think this is just simply insane

i was in a server today, and was kicked for getting in the heli, without ventrillo...

i wonder if they are allowed to enforce the use of third party software by kicking users who havent installed it....i think this is BS, and they shouldnt be allowed to admin a ranked server if they are going to be like that....

i know the pathetic argument 'their server they can do whatever they want' and it dont fly, these servers are RANKED PUBLIC servers, and nothing in any of my BF2 literature, rules or anything it sayd i have to install some third parrty software to use the vehicles ipayed for when i purchased the game...

I would like to see some ignore list in the game browser... and even better some online ignore list you can sign up for, where ppl could report these kind of servers. But its just a dream I guess :|:

Sounds to me like the "clan Chums" wanted to hog the chopper for themselves and where looking for an excuse.

I had the same think on the '1rst air' ranked server... Kicked for soloing then kicked for not using ventrillo while with a pilot...

I asked them to ban me instead, so I would not accidentely stubble upon their server anymore, having loaded up a map, just to be kicked again, couse I sure as hell am not going to download vent, I have teamspeak...

I've run into the same problem, an i agree with the OP... it's a pretty stupid rule. Quite a while ago I was in a server that required commanders and squad leaders to use vent. As a result our team had no commander, and no squads. When I tried to create one, I was instructed to disband the squad unless I use vent. No one will ever convince me that this was an intelligent rule.

If a server wants to have all their players on vent for better teamwork so be it, but it's foolish to expect casual pubbers to do it. I really don't want to listen to everyone complain about the other team being cheaters, what the commander is doing wrong, etc. All that crap makes it more like work and less like a game.

I laughed the first time I saw that as a rule on a server. I think the idea itself is good, but to expect regular pubbers who are just trying to get their hour a day in to follow suit is expecting a lot.

I dont think kicking is the right course of action but again (and this is hated), there are plenty of other servers to choose from. Now, if this is a server you enjoy on a regular basis.....get downloading.
