the mod is great, definetly has the old DC/bf42 feel, especially on el al and gazala.

The gunner seat in the chopper seems pretty pointless to me. Without TV, all you have is guns that are impossible to aim. Shooting infantry in a moving chopper is insanely hard. The zoom function that it has seems almost unusable because the smallest movements of the chopper make it impossible to aim effectively. Maybe more practice is needed, but I have a feeling that even the best of the best will hace a very difficult time using the chopper efficiently.

Exactly.. I love the idea of everything being dumbfire, and the guns are accurate, they just have alot of recoil.

Couple of +: no arty uav no commander. Outskirts of mosul GREAT map
Couple of - : Lag(that is going to be fixed in a next patch) bunny hoppers that can shoot while hop are screwing maps like lostvillage big time.
Hope they will change that as well

              Re: DCon

I totally love this one. Man this is a snipers wet dream. Small vehicles don't show on bomber or helo screen so now I got some mobility and they gave me binoculars. God damn, this is fun. Rifle seems to really accurate, and the terrain is versatile. I think this mod makes sniping like art. If I want you fellows will never gonna seem me until its too late.

Last night, don't remember the map but it was full of tanks, helos and jets, 33 or was it 37 to 5. Best combat score and overall third, as a sniper. Not bad

Epic tank fights are really fun too, those tanks are now just what they should have been in BF2. Powerful and fast, I hate tanks in BF2, small hill and it feels like those vehicles are powered with Honda Civic 1,4LS engines. DCON made them just like they should.

Other thing I like. Air defense. Now it seems pretty effective. Flying will be a challenge in this mod.

I haven't tried flying yet, there were too many eager pilot candidates (burning like candles) while I was playing. I'll save that treat to later times. Few times I tried some helicopters but Little bird was without guns so a bit boring and the other one was really clumsy. Well, time will tell do I like the helos or not. Oh, and that huge plane, well it was slow and I was brought down almost immediately. Nothing more to comment yet.

USMC spec-ops gun is awesome, so easy headshots. Got to like it. Best time in long time while playing, I just can't wait to get back for some more...

Overall excellent MOD and I commend the people that put this together. One or two maps I hate but that is expected and is a good ratio because the others are bad@$$. The whole experience is just on a different level. Lag is an issue but its bearable. I guess this is something to be addressed later. Well worth the download though.

They do? I might just be used to PR recoil, but the crosshairs don't seem to move much even on full auto.

                    No mod 'blows'.

Every single mod team deserves respect for putting hundreds of hours of their time into creating a free mod - if you don't enjoy a mod, fine, but at least respect the people who made it by refraining from saying that the mod 'blows'.

I loved DC. So was really looking forward to this...

-unfortunately couldnt find a low ping server at first (im in Hong kong) with 300 ping i couldnt hit a thing, even from 5 yds, so hopefully more servers will appear in time

-loved the recreation of the maps, not as graphically lush as vanilla but certainly lost village and weapon bunkers brough back fond memories

-got to get used to the kits, there is more recoil than vanilla

-As USA sniper it wouldnt let me select the binocs via the number key, i could only get them using the mouse scroll wheel....not sure if this is a bug

-overrall an excellent effort that im sure will improve over time (just like DC did)

LOL, so true. The lag is being worked on and will be fixed in the first release, from what they say. PR had some issues at first too if I remember.

I cant stand PR as a game, just plain boring. They shouldnt really be compared, they are nothing alike. The music in DCON does kick ***, no doubt there.

DCON will be my favorite mod ever (next to DC) once the lag is addressed. Even If I stop playing DCON, I wont ever play PR, lol.

DCON takes skill, and a good player with an AK or CAR will own you on the infantry maps.

Great job DCON crew. Without a doubt my favorite mod so far. The PR fans are fanatic in general, even though there isn't anything "realistic" about PR or any other game.

I love the Sound of the A-10 also ( a bit too loud though), its just plain mean sounding.

I hope not either. Then again, i think they did more tyo change the feel of BF2 than anyone else has so far. POE2 is pretty for instance, but it plays and feels like BF2 to me, like an expansion pack. I heard that some of the DICE guys develop for POE2 anyway, kind of lame I think if its true.

Bring me pirates and EOD, then FH2. My BF1942 mod days will be back in no time. DCON is my first taste of the good old days. Just like DC, it will take a little bit to really get polished im sure.

Noone from DICE develops for POE. Demize was a mapper for POE1 and now works at DICE. Thats about it.

We have had several members who either worked in the industry or who went on to work in the industry.
