I doubt that there will be another patch, no doubt 2142 work is in pipeline at moment for EA. Plus that thread over at EA forums have been locked for over a week now for sumarising :)

I'd like to think that there will be a final patch to fix the more annoying and blatant bugs, but its not worth getting your hopes up.

There will be another patch, because BF2 has a big a fanbase as 2142.

I think 1.5 will be the penultimate patch. I'd like a new map of some sort, and maybe a new vehicle, then they can just forget about it.

1.5 sounds complete. 1.41 doesn't.

I believe patch 1.5 will also be the last patch, but it will not be implemented until late summer or 3rd quarter september-ish. Included in this patch will be every expansion and booster pack maps. Enabling servers to incorporate the additional maps into its rotation.

I highly doubt that. That would be one huge patch to d/l :|:
I have all the expansions and boosters anyway so maybe an incramental (which i dont like).
Would be good though as more servers would have the booster maps in rotation.

Well I think it's almost good because it will stop "little kids" from badly stats padding to get them...

I doubt those who stat pad are after unlocks. They are more after getting high ranks fast to increase their unearned e-penis. I could care less about unlocks, and by the time you hit 8,000 pts you pretty much have all the ones you want anyway. So I don't see what the big deal is.

I have nothing to back this up, but I honestly think there will be a patch 1.5 released late summer or Fall. It will obviously come short of fan base expectations, but hopefully will "fix" or "add" content to the game. I base this off of past battlefield games and how Dice gave a decent amount of support. However, with EA steering the ship, who knows....

It is hard to say. Any time I get a change to chat with the developers over at DiCE, I get stonewalled when it comes to patches for BF2. It is real hard to say either way. TBH, I would not be overly surprised if one did show up in Beta, but for the most part, I do not expect anything.

Either play a mod or jump to QuakeWars.

i dont get it, why would they REMOVE anything, there is no reason to do so and no reason to expect it coming...
WHY would they remove the ranking system?
WHY would they make unlocks free?
WHY would they implement the booster and expansion pack(s)?
there is no reason why they would, no game in history that ive known of have done such a RANDOM thing, its just rumours made up by jackasses.

i think EA wont release another patch, hence 2142. If they do, it will include everything weve dreamed of:

tanks get even more armor-noobs always get c4'ed.
helicopters will have reduced armor-more noobs whining on sharqi
j-10 and f-35b balance fixed- aa will lock on over 500 feet away, and 2 SAM's will down one. This will remove the j-10 and f-35b problems completely.
snipers will have an increase of 4 clays- "my k/d ratio sucks with sniper" claims local newbie.
resupply crates will replenish faster- T.L.O.W. isnt getting points faster enough...

in the process they will:
increase(worsen) hitbox detection
serves will be more stable (unstable)
k/p servers will be legalized.

Leave it to EA to fix battlefield, like they have done with every patch.
