well last night i was playing on krakend and i was running pass the hotel because i saw this guy run through the hall next to the stairs earlier. So i was running and i hear this evil laughter sound i'm not kidding i head it and it was creepy as hell, then i get shot in the back by the guy......creepy

The laugh was originally part of the Veteran's program... some crap EA tried to pull so that more people would buy 2142. They added that laugh in 1.4 patch, IIRC.

Basically, it's someone "spotting" a dead enemy soldier. It's supposed to be a taunt.

What is does instead is limit spotting abilities and tell the enemy where you are when your character is running around laughing, "He, he, he."

A gimmick.
