I take it you never played the original Desert Combat.

For most part, game play is different than vBF2. As I said, these Devs have spent most of their time CODING.

You guessed right, I never played 1942 let alone DC

The only things I know about DC are:

• It's a mod for 1942
• It's set in a modern era
• It was very popular lol

I didn't know what sort of changes that the mod imposed, apart from new content. :)

I remember when I was playing this mod on battlefield 1942 so I will be sure that I will download this mod and playing it on bf2 version.

that was an amazing video

the plane near the end with the Chainguns reminds me of C&C Generals/Zero Hour with the unique abilitys having a plane like that circling a base firing its guns, say good by to the BH lol

Ill definitely give it a play for nostalgia, but the only mod I can see taking signifigant play time away from PR is FH2

What I don't understand is what the difference is going to be?

I liked the DC mod for BF'42, not as much as some, because I loved '42, but DC for BF2 was a change, it took a WWII game and made it modern.

Isn't BF2 basically a desert combat game itself in some maps?

Is it just going to be like playing RTJ with aircraft? Personally for me when I look to a mod I want something different. Hence the term TCM (Total Conversion MOD). PR is good because it completely changes the parameters of the game making it very different. POE2 to a lesser extent.

There were WWII mods for '42 so I suppose it's not unprecedented.

I'm up for anything, so I guess I shouldn't be picky. I'll give it a shot even if it's very similar to VBF2, at least the maps will be new.

this mod is already out right? b/c i thought i downloaded it last week but everytime i click to start it nothing happens. i eventually got annoyed and just uninstalled it.

The full mod has not been released yet, what you downloaded is a ctf mini-mod, the full mod will be out soon.

I've not followed this mod tbh, but I'm hoping the stingers/SA9 will be like DC - no heat seeking, as I was a corking shot with those
