just like what i said in my other thread, the game gets less enjoyable the more you play, because the better you are from everyone else, the more you stand out and realize your the only one on ur team that isnt an idiot.

The world gets pretty lonely when that's the case for any endeavor you choose.

I mix up my playing style when I get bored... ie, I follow strange rules like "only fly clockwise", or "only go after tanks", "scrape enemy infantry only", etc... it can be a lot of fun, especially when alcohol is involved.

When I was a noob, I was impressed of BF2. The grapichs, the tanks, jets and choppers. When I took off from carrier with a F35, I pressed X and then F, because the "helper guy" told me something about it, lol. And I kept practising bombing on Oman @ Hotel flag.. I felt I was good, lawlz

BF2 was the #1 game that time and best grapichs ever seen imo..

It was definitely more exciting when I was a noob; however, given BF2 was my first multiplayer on-line experience, I died A LOT early on and I don't miss that. I've been able to keep my interest by trying different things in the game. At first I was strictly a ground pounder in a squad. I've since spent time as a squad leader, commander and pilot. I've also hopped around with the different kits trying to get at least competent with each one. As AlphaCueUp mentioned, I also play all the maps - even the night maps in SF.

Actually it's more fun because I know what the hell I am doing. It would be annoying when I didn't know how to fly a jet or heli and having to get owned by them. So I learned to fly them when there would be a whore in the server killing me over and over lol.

I loved when I was impressed, and everything was just boosting up the immersion. Then, it slowly lost its appeal. Could only regain it when I started to play with a group of crazy North American people.

The more you know about the game, the less enjoyable it is. I dont think ANY of the veterans here is as kind and as good as they used to be in the start.

I've had BF2 since the day it came out and I remember having so much fun playing it the first few weeks because EVERYONE was a newbie.

You would see tanks slugging it out taking more than 2 shots since they didn't know the weaknesses yet, choppers and planes crashing all the time because people were learning to fly, and more point capturing rather than getting uber scores.

However, it's still fun to me since I'm able to handle my own and take on experienced players, since I myself am now more experienced. I often feel bad for newer players who just started playing (maybe got the game for x-mas) because they can quickly be overwhelmed by the common Karkand spam and Wake rape festivals.

Hah, one of the reasons my k/d ratio is messed up is that I ran around the map looking at the scenery!

I think I'm having the same amount of fun playing BF2 now. But it's a different kind of fun. At the beginning I played as lone wolf most of the time, but now I join squads (preferably with other =SoBF= clan members). That and getting into the whole communication thing added a new aspect to the game. And now I have so much fun accasionally having a good round and pwning plus teabagging annoying nadespammers etc. :laugh:

not that this is a dig at anyone, i cant say alot because i haven't played with you or against you, but to the cases of sloi and chris ever thought of doing something completely out of character

sloi for example on dalian or wake, go as spec-ops in a DPV and get s few guys and flag hop, be all sneaky. who cares if some no0b gets the chopper and is useless and loses it for the team. if you have fun then its all good, you never know your ground presense might be as useful as your air superiority

same for chris, on oman, dont go in a jet, seeing as you know that you've got a 90% win chance go on a less played map and do something other then go in a jet. maybe hte above or get a small armoured movement (i quite like that, a flag getting charged by 3 tanks, is quite good fun, especially if theres some resistence)

now me personally enjoy it just as much, maybe not the same way. i have been going for all the kit badges, i only have AT and spec-ops to go. but with Spec-ops i have got a love for the M4, i think its an awesome weapon, and C4 has provided me with barrels of laughs on IO. kill a guy, C4 his body, 5 medics run for two point and i go and get an extra 10 or 12.

to me the game has got a long time yet until i'm done with it

Choosing ground play over air play has no doubt prolongued my joy from the game, however were talking about something that will end anyway.

Im not the kind of guy who tries to squeeze everything off a game, I just drop it if I lose my interest, and pick it back up when I feel I want to play again. TotablBF2 ownage event or whatever it is has actually fueled a spark in my interest.
