First stay away from maps with jets.You will spend more time dead than anything. Avoid infantry only maps also, not much needs repair there, LOL. Next start driveing around in a vodnik or humvee following armor around. If you get on a map and team where the armor stays together, ride and squad with the tank driver, you will get the most points there. Even if you wind up in an APC you can get repair points pretty quick.
I have racked up 25 repair points in a 5 min round by rideing, I was the 50 cal gunner, with an agressive tank driver. The two APCs stayed with us and I kept moveing between the tank and an APC so that I wasnt exposed to direct fire. If you talk to the tank driver and can get him to be support and squad leader, you should have no problems keeping the other armor close. Not to mention, collecting lots of points. Ive found that almost all BF2 players will lend you a helping hand when it also helps them out, as long as theres no padding involved. Good Luck. . . . . . . . . .Red

Listen to red rider. That is easily the fastest way to get repair points. Karkand or Jalalabad are the perfect maps for racking up large repair points. Grab any armor and pair up with another.

I don't believe this is possible. It takes forever to get even 1 repair point. To say one can get 25 points in 5 minutes is unbelieveable.

The most repair points I've gotten in a single round is 17 and that was riding atop a Linebacker on Dragon Valley, wrenching it the entire game AND getting extra points for teaming up with other armor in a convoy and repairing them.

Oh, and no, you do not get points for picking up enemy mines.

The best I've found is to find a underpopulated map with bombers and good pilots. Stay out of vehicles but near the assets on foot. You can't even get assets repaired fully before he comes back and destroys them again. You can find those games occasionally when you will almost never stop wrenching.

Like Op Clean Sweep, esp if you take op. You are defending the airfield too, so you still get lots of action. Some well place mines help also. Altho, I got my expert in a Sharqui where a guy was spawn raping the helo pad with the cobra.. he'd fire and if the chopper wasn't on the pad he'd take out the UAV or the scan.
I's say it'd be hard to recreate that experience. I have seen alot of helo pad campers but, I have only seen that 1 pilot camp with the TV in that manner.

Ok, I wasn't aware of that. I've played IO maps for so long now so I haven't done it lately. Is it just that you don't get points for it or you can't pick them up at all anymore?

I think its been mentioned but follow other armour around in an apc or tank or just hang around assets and hope they get blown up. One tip, and it could be considered padding, when say the UAV trailer is blown up, you can repair about 98% of it if they only used 2 C4 charges on it. If that happens, you have to start another repair on another vehicle or piece of gear to get the point. What you do is throw one grenade at it to damage it slightly and you finish it off for the point. The one grenade won't qualify as team damage either. I got 32 rp's in one round on OCS cause some smarty pants was bombing the gear and I don't think he ever missed.

Well, there are several forms of "padding" to get repair points, but I rather not list them.

Some legitiment ways to get repairs are:

1. To constantly follow friendly armor around either by foot or in another vehicle (preferable another piece of Armor)
2. Repair commanders assets after a crazed enemy spec ops guy keeps coming back for more.

Regardless, it's going to take you a LONG time to reach 1,000. Safe to say at least 200 hrs, if you get around 5 repair per hr (and that's pretty darn good).

The reason for the 25 points was I was In one vehicle and getting points repairing the other 2. Try it and see.

By the way, the tank has more armor and can take more shots and not be destroyed. So if you will line up, in an APC, right behind the tank you can shoot over the top of the tank and take advantage of his armor while repairing him. With a tank and 2 APC's it works like a resupply crate while you are in one of them and the other two are close enough you repair the ones you are not in. It makes more sense to not be the driver if you plan to swap vehicles, because you dont want to be in the heat of battle and leave an empty piece of armor sitting there. Ive stolen several of these from the enemy, LOL. . . . . . . .Red

Two man tank squad at Jahalabad. A cautious tanker (the good ones are) , and you repairing.

I got some whacky engineer badge one night not even trying to get it. The server didn't have too many people in it so it came down to armor. Hooked up with a friend and we were very effective. Him creeping around (not charging from flag pole to flag pole), ambushing other tanks from a distance, me cranking on him with a wrench. We did some serious damage. It's no wonder since his tank was at max strength a good portion of the round.

Don't stat pad for it. One it's pretty much pointless to do so, and two if you actually figure out a way to get some of these harder badges to achieve that legitimately in the game, your a force to be reckoned with.

If you feel gutsy then you can get repair points by sitting + wrenching in the suicide seat on an AA tank. I scored 7 repair points on Operation Road Rage this way. Kubra Dam is another good map for this if you want to give it a try.
