      Re: Bunnyhopping

If bunny hopping dose not make it any harder to shoot someone then why do you do it??? It is harder to shot someone and they can still throw nades while they are jumping causing you to have to run away from it giving them time to stop for a second and shot you.

really though, unless your on an obstacle course, when would you need to jump more than once in a row?

          Re: Bunnyhopping

The main reason bunnyhopping rules suck is that it is impossible to enforce them fairly. If you bunnyhop when there is no admin in sight, you get away with it. If a server admin shoots at you and you start bunnyhopping, you get warned or kicked.

Whether you want to ban bunnyhopping or not, no one can support rules that admins enforce arbitrarily.

            Re: Bunnyhopping

I regularly get kicked for it, some extremely unintelligent people seem to think that bunny hopping is hitting the space bar ONCE!

I have been kicked more times than i can remeber for jumping over an obstacle, jumping over a person then shooting them in the back, as mentioned above, and jumping around a corner!

Even once for jumping onto a ladder!

It's a dumb rule, against the ROE to have it as a rule, impossible to enforce fairly, and just an excuse for **** admins who want to kick you for owning [/rant]

Just as long as we're all clear on the fact that just because someone bunnyhops, doesn't mean they are owning.

I bunny hop, just because like to feel like the mother hawkin juggarnaut bunny when I'm killing people.

                    Re: Bunnyhopping

If I'm getting shot at and have no idea where it is coming from, I'm going to make my self a harder target to hit. I'm not going to stand still to try and locate where I'm getting shot from. Once I do spot whoever is hitting me I'll usually crouch or prone and return fire. If I realize they've completely got the drop on me and there is no way to win this fight, then I'll sprint for cover. I'll also start jumping if my stamina bar permits it.
Yep, that how I do it too. But I got accused for bunnyhopping and kick warned for it. And like Vesuvan said it works if you got blinded by a flash bang.

                      Re: Bunnyhopping

not only does hopping look totally ridiculous (and imagine in RL jumping with 80+kilos of gear) but I have found it offers no tactical advantage whatsoever. I get a big kick out of shooting down these fools while in the air. Running like crazy in different directions is just as effective if you are under fire and as we all know, jumping only wastes your sprint.

My problem is that people seem to consider every jump a "bunnyhop." I think it's pretty clear by the name that you have to jump more than once to be "bunnyhopping."

Example: If someone near to me goes prone and starts shooting at me (most often a support kit), I run toward them and jump over, then shoot from behind. It causes them breif confusion, and gives me time for a couple rounds before they get oriented. In this maneuver, I only jumped once. I didn't hop my way toward him, just one jump once I was there.

So, is a single jump still bunnyhopping? If so the server rule should say "no jumping... period"
servers that ban for bunny hopping are completly retarded. Find a better server.

                          Re: Bunnyhopping

Since you can shoot while in the air, bunnyhopping isn't that bigger deal.
I still see a lt of player hopping like crazy not to get shot.
It's annoying but it is also a great challange to take them down and a nice satisfaction and rofl if I do so.

Jumping is a part of the game and don't care if someone jumps occasionally to avoid the bullets. It's like having more than one parachute. You have, you use it. As long as I have a spacebar on my keyboard I will jump if I feel so.
                          No bunnyhopping of course!
It is just a game and a lot of features don't match RL and they'll never match.

If you didn't realise mate this is actually a forum for talking about an arcade based GAME! People that use that excuse piss me off, if you want RL action join the army, or failing that play PR! BF2 is an arcade based game and always will be, get used to it :|:
