there is really no reason to force anything higher IMO..

My 7950GT with no AF and 4xAA looks 20 times better IMO.



Not to mention the heatpipes on the Passive Cooling system look rad.

I can see differences in the model anti-aliasing and in the soft shadows.

I'll get on a Local Gulf and take the same pic later on if I remember.

Go to C:\Documents and Settings\......\My documents\Battlefield 2\Profiles\0001

The 0001 is the first account of BF2. If you are currently using a second, third or whatever account go into that folder ( you can see what account is stored in what 000# folder by checking the Profile thing in the folder).

In the 000# folder you will also see a Video (CON) file. Click on that and manually change the number of samples. It should read VideoSettings.setAntialiasing 4Samples . So you should change it to 8Samples.

If you want more in detail information on Tweaking your computer for BF2 you should read Battlefield 2 Tweak Guide.

Would be alot easier to just set it from nvidia/ATI control centre

Thanks for the help guys, but I want to push BF2 to the most it can go (editing the video.con file), I could sacrifice some FPS for some eye candy, its just that BF2 on low is so damn ugly ugh I hate it :p

Yeah, the guys a nice guy, he just got an 8800 GTX, and I convinced him to fork over the radeon :p

So knowing that it has a aftermarket cooler, and its overclocked by about 200 mhz, do you think that would improve my fps? And for the bottleneck processor, as soon as I get enough for an E6600, im getting that :)

Comments would be appreciated.

EDIT: Nevermind, I just found out it was a Intel Pentium 4 630 @ 3 GHz, and not dual-core, but of course its temporary until I have enough for an E6600, (seeing as my mobo is Core 2 ready).

Free you say? Lucky you; you should be able to crank up some incredible eyecandy.

About the o'c...hmmm...~25%? Wow. That's awfully high. I would watch it carefully--download Powerstrip or ati tray tools and set it to let you monitor your temps and fps in game. Your pc and the pc that it's coming out of will have different cooling performance, so you might get less (or heck, more) of an o'c out of it in your case.

Is the memory overclocked as well?

edit: I use this program. You can test and adjust your o'c, save o'c profiles, and have it display temps and fps while you're in a 3d (game) envirnonment:

I also like ati tool v.24. It doesn't have as many features, but it is a lot more straightforward and it will log temperatures to a text file. It will also display temps in the taskbar so you can monitor the temps while you adjust the o'c.

it will change your name for say SP or Co-op in BFHQ aswell i think, it wont work for online play,
