he flys again, i tell him to get height, and nothing, he does the same crap again

right so i'll fly, line up with TV on a tank, and... missed, ok lag. bring us around same again, he then gives up and starts with the chaingun. at which point i'm just thinking why i'm bothering i could have taken out the tank + helo and some more stuff had i been soloing

any tips on teaching coz i swear i dont get heard
Don't bother teaching someone who won't even acknowledge your messages: that's what your M95 is for, I suggest you begin using it.

Or here is a wild idea, how about they introduce teamplay into the other two major vehicles? Tanks and APC's?Make a driver and a gunner.

Gasp! What an outlandish idea in a team based game that you have to rely on other people!

Jet's and heli's are cheap in that you DON'T need to rely on other people. Wounded? Fly down a runway or hover for a couple of seconds over a helipad, Magic! You are healed. Out of ammo? Fly down a carrier/runway at Mach 1.2 and you get more missiles and bombs!

Having an "unskilled" gunner just means you are an unskilled pilot. I'm not saying you won't kick major butt if you fly alone, but you need to make allowances for other people's other skills. If they can't make snap, rolling, TV missile hits, DON'T USE THEM! Line up the shots with a little more time.

Personally I hate gunning. I've done it a handfull of times, why? Because I know I'm not practiced at it. However I have kicked *** the couple of times when I've had a superior pilot flying for me. Maybe I just play with nicer people than you do, but they are OK with having you shoot the gun at infantry while they fly.

I also never ask to be picked up. If I'm in a squad and there is a seat free, and they ask, then I'll volunteer, but I prefer shooting people with guns than with cannons.

The last three paragraphs of your post make it very clear that you have absolutely no f*cking clue what you're talking about. I suppose everyone is entitled to an opinion, however erroneous/unreasoned it may be...

people getting experience through playing the game and flying when you start out you will suck but through time you will get better. how could of a player would you be if you got kicked from every server you went on because you were not as good as how some other people thouhgt you had to be to do this.

there will be no new good gunners unless you allow people to gun for you. somebody COULD play as infantry get 50k and then not know the tv missle is guided because either he never got in a chopper or he was always TKed or red lined while in one.

and sometimes they cant get good hits because the pilot is flying around crazy trying to get kills with the rockets rather then lining up his gunner with a clear shoot

Jesus, it's not even that. Not rarely, I'll see people ranked from 1st LT to General flying and gunning like a noob.

I guess they spent way too much time padding Karkand.

Jet's and heli's are cheap in that you DON'T need to rely on other people.
Yeah, yeah, it requires a lot of skill to toss ammo bags all around and nade spam, or use magic healing medpacks and shock people around for cheap 2 points.

I've said many times and I'll repeat: playing infantry (especially infantry only) is profitable point-wise. Just look at my account here:

Got almost 6 SPM - and I'm not that good playing infantry. Never got anywhere near that with choppers, and don't recall seeing anybody else getting that, either.

You dont see anyone with a 6 spm because most people have not started a new account for IO. I and many others would easily eclipse that score if we started over. stick to flying fly boy (no disrepect cause I cant fly worth crap) but ground pounding is a whole other beast.

Duh, I'm not saying I'm leet because I got 6 SPM. I say I'm not a good groundpounder AND YET I got 6 SPM. Just to prove how ridiculously easy it is to whore points as infantry.

Nade spamming, ammo pack/med pack spamming, revive fest, claymore whoring, "24/7 Karkand/Jalalabad IO FF OFF" and kinda-sortas don't require any skill. Flying does.

I would argue that both require a decent amount of skill to truely master.

But ground pounders unlike chopper pilots are not given an unfair advantage over others due to the huge imbalance between infantry and armor that has been created by dice.

I swear, I would love to see just how skillfull u chopper/solo pilots would be if dice decided to add anti air missles to the ani-tank kit.

Its really funny how people confuse imbalance with skill.

Not to be confused with anti-helicopter sentiments, but I can guarantee to you right now that you can earn a vastly larger ammount of points as a Helicopter Pilot or Gunner on Sharqui camping the TV station. You could also do the same on Wake Island 2007 and Dalian Plant by camping the Carrier/Arty Island. (Although it's harder to do.)

I mean, it doesn't matter if you Infantry Whore, Tank Whore, Helicopter Whore or Jet Whore. You're still whoring yourself out for fast and easy points.

A truly good groundpounder earns points, and keep a very high Kill/Death ratio with his weapons.

Anyhow... a half-way decent helicopter will always have a higher Kill/Death ratio than most if not all groundpounders, merely because it's much safer to be in a helicopter than it is to be on the ground.

Ever heard of an AA station? I hear they can be pretty useful. I also heard they can be used by every player with any kit. Alt+F4 gives you Godmode, too.

You know Prototype by your remark one would swear that you have never picked up bf2 in your life.

Im really sick of you fly boys using aa stations as a sort of cruch to defend against bf2's imbalance.

Lets cut the crap. Having the advantage of knowing where your attackers are does not equal fair opposition.

Seriously, please cut the nonesense. You guys have had far to much experience with this game to be in such denial.

Do you really expect that some random guy walking around has a chance against an attack chopper? With or without Stinger missles? Do you want the choppers to be brought down by rifles? With as much armor as a Honda Civic? You're in denial, buddy. Get off your high horse and load up some IO FF Off server.

I'm not denying that there is a vehicular imbalance in the game(to some extent), but use your head dude. There's AA stations and Mobile AA vehicles for a reason. An attack chopper constantly circling an unprotected point(TV Station on Sharqi f.e.), was an oversight by the developers. People who constantly do this, should be shot, IMO.

It's funny how you confuse the game's imbalance with your ignorance, my friend.

You wont hear a bad thing about it. The problem is that tanks and APCs are generally targeted by more people and thus need a lot more focus to survive. Their weapon systems are also linear enough so theres no need for a gunner. If there would be added speed, added weapon systems to create a superior vehicle on the field, youd see tanks with gunners.

The more serious issue arises from the fact that theres only 32 people per side. Which is why the weapon systems that are lower on the food chain are commanded by 1 people. Besides, choppers in their own nature are unique, and a gunner utilizing 2 weapons isnt really a mystery. It just works great that way.

With people constantly learning and evolving in skill, DICE never figured out that the weapons would be taken to extreme.

Gasp! What an outlandish idea in a team based game that you have to rely on other people!
You are not being serious here. At least I hope so. In BF2, where every monkey on the field is fueled by the lust for points, you use the words "rely on other people"?

If you want to make a good teambased system, you need to create a game where you are more effective with your team, and where you get your *** royally handed to you when youre doing alone. Right now, in BF2, the skilled players circumvent themselves out from the sh!tbasket we call "apalling lack of teamwork", and rely on their own brains and brawl. You cant blame them for doing so.

Jet's and heli's are cheap in that you DON'T need to rely on other people.
You dont need anyone if youre a lone skilled ground combatant. You call him Mr Cheese too?

Wounded? Fly down a runway or hover for a couple of seconds over a helipad, Magic!
If you hover, youre a target, and it takes about 10 or so seconds to fully repair. Which gives helos, tanks and jets more than enough time to take it out. But the most important thing is that during the time of going and coming from repair stations, the helo is off the field. For a minute at least. You can cap at least a flag in a minute.

You are healed. Out of ammo? Fly down a carrier/runway at Mach 1.2 and you get more missiles and bombs!
3 stripes per health during one pass is not such a bad trade.

As a ground pounder you need someone to throw you a medic bag, or drop some ammo for you.
Which is - 2 key presses. Thats number 5, and left click. Now thats some mad hacking skills right there. And you rely on the POINT LUST of your teammates, rather than a genuine will and motion to keep you on the field. Wow, what an amazing concept of teamwork, valour and honour!!! Not to mention mad skills!

Yes you can use supply crates, but that takes way too long and you aren't even moving like you are in a jet!
Tell me something, point me ANYTHING on the field that can kill a groundpounder with a "fire and forget" way? NONE. Which is a tradeoff if a jet reloads on the air strip. And a smart commander doesnt drop a crate where its an easy target, but thats just throwing stones into the garden of the smartest groundpounders...

Having an "unskilled" gunner just means you are an unskilled pilot.
No, having an unskilled gunner means sh!tloads of more than that, and I feel like I have to recorrect the apalling stupidity from your part when you dig into this subject.

I'm not saying you won't kick major butt if you fly alone, but you need to make allowances for other people's other skills.
Is BF2 all about making allowances for other peoples lack of skill? I mean, its easy to say for those who play on the ground and have a selection of 27 other people to rely on. But once youre flying, and you want to SURVIVE, you cant make allowances, or youll compromise having your fun, your teams fun, for the short and brief fun of your gunner. Who, not to mention the fact that hell miss, likes to spray his peashooter at armor. Heres skill. Or lack of PILOTS skill? I guess so.

If they can't make snap, rolling, TV missile hits, DON'T USE THEM! Line up the shots with a little more time.
Ok, we just went from bad to worse.
                                *If you wait, youll die
*If the gunner cant fire off a missile OFF a rolling chopper, how would he even hit a rolling target?

Personally I hate gunning. I've done it a handfull of times, why? Because I know I'm not practiced at it. However I have kicked *** the couple of times when I've had a superior pilot flying for me.
Judging by what youve said, you were owning some people who were simply worse than you, and I dont think theres much room below where youre standing at this point.

Maybe I just play with nicer people than you do, but they are OK with having you shoot the gun at infantry while they fly.
Which is probably because they know theres a chopper crew up there that isnt a threat and just sigh at your inability to do anything smarter than just that- shooting guns at infantry.
