I've never noticed people being killed by claymores to the point where it is ridiculous. I see 8 times more people being killed by the G36E than clay's. Although I have seen retards run into a group of enemies drop a clay, die get a kill or two and repeat over and over. I only drop clays when I have to go re-cap one of our flags that's beign taken becuase all you 1337 medics and noobtubers are all spawnraping and playing withyourselves in corners. :)
I play Snipe almost exclusively, although sometimes going medic is more important.
I think the problem people have with snipers is when they use claymores as an offensive weapon. Ive been blown up countless times when a sniper comes round a corner and lays a claymore right in front of me. Also i think that people have an issue with crap snipers that dont do their job and are generally rubbish at firing a sniper rifle.
A sniper is an excellent tool for defending a flag, anyone that has been on a squad where eveyone teamworks knows this.
on mashtuur we where doing the whole SL flying the chopper thing, we lost the chopper and had to retake south gas station to get it back, while we where doing it a sniper has hidden very well in the area and was landing clean headshots not only to the point where we had to bunny hop but to the point where we had to make sure we didnt run in the same direction for to long, he was pretty far away when we found him, he was clearly a master of leading and calculating bullet drop, all i remember is the chaos it caused, he was using the m95 which he used to stop us from flying the chopper anyone that hopped in the pilot seat would be shot out immediately we couldn't just hop in and turn the chopper around because we didnt know where he was....headshots.
as a commander i usually spawn as sniper and plant a claymores on a flag such as the suburbs on karkand or any flag that players often sneak past the front line for and then i place myself away from the flag in a position where i can overwatch it and snipe anyone trying to take it.
But in the future when insulting people's intelligence you should probably use the spell-checker :)
Edit - I guess a spell-checker wouldn't have caught those mistakes, but meh. It's just a pet peeve of mine when people call people stupid but they can't seem to use grammar or spell their words correctly. I always triple check everything when insulting people
I love snipers, even enemy ones, when ever i wait for a jet, they pick off the others around me and i never seem to die. Leaving the jet for meeee ^_^ to noob it up and crash.
Playing Oman as USMC, camping jet campers, always fun, Can't unlock L96 so I take out the people trying to search with a helo with my good ole' M95
SVD + Karkand... It's a lethal combination if used properly but I need to get used to it
As for the "Sniper" in the name, I'm not too keen of it either, I prefer when people have original names... Even if they are actual words placed together =]
How many times i've played a game of rock paper scissors with other snipers... or in other terms Knife pistol claymore hehe... or you can cheat and play god and r-click grenades >.<
But really... people need to feel the gratitude of knife kills, they rock!
I use sniper quite abit, it is my favorite kit, but i use the kit to the fullest to aid my squad, unlike the guys who sit on the top of mountains trying to snipe.
Snipers with M95 are good, keep the jets off the ground... think of it logically!!
People get scared if shot at/friends killed, people hide, takes time to get to jet, the stupid ones will stand next to the spawn location and hope not to get shot, they get the plane, they crash it... also when a plane spawns, AIM FOR THE COCKPIT!! If you have a full clip of M95 rounds aim for the cockpit... each time you reload your bullet another guy gets into the jet/helo... free kill anyone?
