i was listening to the battlefield podcast and the host had questions from viewers so that dice can answer them

one question was, Does dice read the battlefield forums?
so since they read battlefield forums, i was wondering if they read this one

To Dice,

Battlefield 2142 sucks, battlefield 2 is better. Your gonna loose money fixing 2142, cause no one likes it, unless there 12 (no offense). Fix bf2, cause more people play it, and i bet only 1/5 are gonna quit bf2 and go to 2142, the others will play other games, like crysis.

bf2 only needs 1 more patch, so if you do make one, fix the big problems.
like the j-10 issue, cause wake island is now unplayable unless the PLA pilots suck

I know they read these forums, I see them here and at other sites also once and awhile. But, do they have the time, will, and need to go back to an older project like BF2. I stated in a thread last August, when we were still waiting to get out of 1.3 that DiCE is getting into that area where they can patch it now and be done with it, or walk away because it is getting close to time to start on a new project to have it competitively ready in two-three years.

Well, it has been half a year since I said that, I am very confident that DiCE has moved on to other projects. And they as a company need to, just to stay ahead of the competition. Crysis and QuakeWars are going to be coming out, and DiCE will be loosing much of their fan base to those games...So, the cycle begins again where they need to work to projects that will make them new money, not old money coming from Ranked Servers.

But again, they need to support BF2 so they can still get revenue from ranked servers to push their development further.

OR, another way to own wake island is the strategy that ahomo clan uses. they tell one of there friends to switch teams, drive an FAV into the j10 as it takes off and then the F-35s just rape the f out of the airfield.

Lol... happened to me yesterday. apparently its ownage :S. noobs these days, very humourous.

They still need to support BF2 cuz I'm not a General yet!!!!!

Been playing this darn game since Oct 05, only have 90k pts. I'll never make general! LOL Well, i will eventually, so they better keep supporting it til I do. Then they can drop support, after SirCyRo makes it to 1 measly star! LOL

A new CS 1.6 patch was released yesterday I believe. Over a year in the making, and what do they do? Put ads in the game(sound familiar?), and change the scoreboard to help noobs with 1337 names. What a patch!

Steam really doesn't support it...as much as do what they want with it. It took someone 30 minutes to write that update.

BF2/2142 run off the same engine. The engine was tweaked slightly to help performance issues and server browsers f*ckups in 2142.

I am quite aware of the lineage of 2142. I refer to engine interchange in the form of quicker map loads and more unlock features.

It would be exciting to see unlocks available after 50000 points in the form of the ability to unlock a grapple hook, or multiple smoke grenades or even more sprint stamina.

yeah but my point is that they have done alot of minor updates since 1.6 came out and remembering this is a game that i got for Free

If dice even did a minor update in a one years time i would be amazed
let alone in 3 or 4 years

Yes, and many, many, many others too. 2142 sales also prove that this venture into the future was not successful.

Far more people play BF2 today then 2142, and I mean WAY more.

On your other point that they don't listen. In the past they sure didn't, but they had to pay the piper as a result (poor 2142 sales). So hopefully they are listening now, we shall see.
