-any 7 series nividia card will be more then enough for BF2. Upgrade to a new card in a few months if need be when the new series cards are cheap.

Build it then overclock to 3.0ghz and your set.

make sure you buy good ram well your at it. by that i mean sticks that arnt clocks lower then 500mhrz... i think 800 was the nice spot but i dont really know anymore. havent kept in touch on that stuff...

but id pass on the package deals like alienware and what not if i were you. waste of money. cheaper to build one. you should try these sites out:

ps. not the e6300, get the e6600. its 400 bucks and rated at 2.4 ghrz. its safer too, suggested that your prolly not too familiar with clocking as much as i am either. besides, its faster. you like speed... dont you? =P lol

you can fit the 8800 in that case by removing the useless fan on the one of the harddrive racks, but you still have another rack below for your harddrive its not much to miss its actually easier having the harddrives on the bottom one so they dont get in the way of the power connector for the Graphics card.

do you know the price for them?? they're going to be a pain in the *** because you will have to buy an new mobo an a case according to maximum PC mag. and they might sell thme separately but at a cost of 700 a pop, so no get a core 2 duo or an AMD which I personally have a 4200+X2 and it runs my games great

Intel has had quads for awhile... same socket as there new dual cores i believe

See if you can get a combination of XP and Vista, or even XP and a Vista Upgrade.

Vista is far, far, far more stable than XP, and the only BSOD I have ever gotten is from... you (didn't) guessed it, nVidia's drivers.


I think you'll find Scinto's build is very decent, I'd still recommend Vista over XP though.

my cpu is a socket939 amd 64 3200 stock 2.ghz it run's at 2.65 ghz stock cooling i like amd, wont build new system till end of year when it will be worth it

first off don't buy a pre-built computer i'm pretty sure if you don't know how to build one you can find a local tech store, it could save you 200-400$,
and 1 thing to check is to see if your computer can be upgraded like mine i can make my computer just about new, for cheaper then a brand new one
