Time for a new monster...

So yeah.. I came to the sad conclusion that I need to get a new PC. It has been 4 years with this lunk of dell. I had a Nvidia Geforce 6800gt put in not too long ago, and now they discontinued it, bummer. But yeah I've found that this community has alot of users who have very snazzy computers, and I was asking if you guys have any input on what I should be looking into. Knowing that I play BF2 EVERY DAY, and that I have a budget under 2500$ Canadian (Don't be hatin'), but yeah... any feedback is welcome.

but yeah my daddy-o just decided that when you have 2MB, YES, Thats right, 2MB of memory on your C: drive then you know you've got a problem. I had to uninstall BF2, OMGASH what a heartache.

Do you want AMD or Intel ? Whatever u choose its allways better to build yourself, My advice do NOT scrimp on the power supply (12v rail amp rating is more important than total watts) or the MOBO and memory.

Try not to get an Intel, I suggest you get an AMD.
$2500 is a lot, so get a AMD 64 X2.FX 4000+ with an 8800GT.
And do NOT get Vista.

Stick with Nvidia, whatever you want(I don't recommend the 8800, DX10 will not be a standard for a few years, and you need Vista for DX10).
Deff get a good PSU, at least 18A on the 12v, and that's minimum.
I love my Dell, but I will be the first to tell you, if you want a gaming rig, build it yourself(or have a friend/shop do it). The mobos they use just don't cut it. Alienware...I'd pass on. There are better gaming PC companies out.

Intel has them. haven't read reviews on them, though. Not interested.

Most of the IT people I know, admit that Intel is more stable.

If you have no clue i recommend this:

Buy a computer gamimg like PC GAMER. In every issue they list 3 full systems for different budgets (eg low, mid and high range). This will give you an idea of cost as well as an idea of compatibility between components. Also the systems are usually well balanced with no obvious bottlenecks.

if you plan to build yourself you need to do a hell of alot of research into compatability otherwise you may have issues.
