Got my veterans explosive badge? Here's how!

I never really go for badges. I am satisfied to just get them as they come. I have either expert or veteran for everything but I just happened to check out my stats the other day and was disturbed to see I just had a basic explosive (C4, AT Mine, Claymore) badge. (My only basic badge).

I decided to concentrate on getting the veteran badge. I tried everything I could think of for hours and hours with no results. I needed 20 kills in a round and could only muster an average of 15-17 kills with explosives because of the limited supply of ammo. (I should say that I am not in a clan and have no friends that play to resupply me.)

I joined a karkand (infantry only) game and became commander of the MEC. I was a sniper and climbed the building at the square. I dropped supplies on the building and just started spamming claymores. BOOM... Boom Boom BOOM... BOOM... Boom Boom BOOM...BOOM... Boom Boom BOOM...

Within a few minutes I had 25 claymore kills and yes my veterans badge.

If the game would have lasted another 5 minutes or so I could have gotten my expert. I may try this technique again and see if I get lucky. I know if I were playing against a good team, I would have never gotten away with it.

Love the weekends. All the noobs come out and offer up their selves for sacrifice for people to get badges.

Edit.... I should say that as commander, I knew when squads were coming for the flag. I didn't just spam claymores the whole game. lol

You need a global 300 explosives to get expert...I remember when it took 1000 you newbies have it easy now...But anywho we have clan and two ranked servers if you want to join up...

I am not new to the game. I kick most asses I come across. I just do not go for badges except for this one. The reasons were posted in the original post.

Edit: I just looked it up. You are talking about kills. I have more than enough for the 1000.

Getting 300 or 1000 global kills is cakework, but getting 30 IAR is rough.

I think this badge has only fueled the claymore spaming that occurs in Karkand. I personally have been trying to get it on and off for a while now, but refuse to spam claymores. I've instead been using C4 at places like the TV Station in Warlord or in popular choke points in Karkand, but always come up short with around 25 kills max. I think it takes a combination of n00b enemies, long rounds and consistent resupply of ammo to achieve the expert badge.

I got my Expert Explosives badge at the Damage Inc server with only 125 tickets left....the rounds are so long, it was Karkand I/O, it was too easy.

i got my vet explosives on krakand. i was on MEC and when the round first started i went and mined the entrance to hotel and happened to be lucky enough to hit a tank with a gunner and an apc with 3 ppl in it. after we lost the hotel i tried jihad jeeping to get kills but it always seemed if i went after infantry id hit them with the jeep first (thus awarding the kill to the jeep rather than c4) so i went back to the factory and grabbed a BTR-90 and went jihad apc-ing. it was a total surprise to the other team no one expected an apc to roll up next to them and explode. i started doing it with the tank later once it was apparent noone on my team wanted it. i easily got the last 15 kills.

i got sidetracked when writing this. after the sentence about running over the infantry first i also meant to say- "and if i tried for a tank or apc the unarmored jeep would get killed before i got close enough." thats what prompted me to try using the armor for jihad apc-ing/tanking

I got my veteran badge just the other day. I wasn't even aware that I didn't have it yet. lol I've been in the mood for jihading lately. I got it while doing it on either Operation Road Rage, or Jalalabad.. Can't recall which one. Something satifying about C4-ing someone that feels invincible in a tank.

I just got my expert explosives, and I got it with claymores also. I really wish I had got it with a combination of C4, AT mines, and claymores...but I got it the only way to get it now.

There was another thread that I just talked about it, but I was on Iron Gator playing with the SVD. And since everyone is always spamming ammo packs, I would just drop my claymores, get an ammo pack and just proceed to shoot people up with the SVD in head-to-head fighting. But if a claymore went of, I would drop one to replace it. I made sure that I was only keeping two out and not just wasting them. I got almost 40 at the end of the round and it was a fairly full server. 64 map w/ 40+ people on.

Good Luck. I waited serveral months to get mine and I never honestly expected to get it, but out of hte blue, I started to get serveral claymroe kills and I just made sure to follow up with it.

If there is any map that is idea enough for CQC claymore acition, it would be Iron Gator.

Now maybe some day I will get my repair expert and my expert pistol.

Got my Expert Explosives on SF Warlord map. Claymoring the hell out of the palace!! 55 kills overall with 35 being from Claymores. It was a good round!!

Yes, the palace in warlord is a good spot. I seem to get a lot of clay kills on Sharqi, I/O or not. Ground Pounders are just so oblivious to be looking for explosives, that I get them fairly often. Its fun. I love it when my little boobie traps go off!

Yeah, I find it is just better to avoid the palace because of that. Maybe whenever everyone has their expert ordinance, we are going to see less claymores...still be nice if the FF was on for those things.

FF on for claymores makes the game claymores usless as most of your team will be retarted and constatnly run over your mines

Not my fault that DiCE could not patch different colored skulls for different devices. And not my fault people don't notice the skull. Back when FF was on, I rarely ever killed anyone because I was a sniper, had 5 of them, and put them in places that were 'out of the way' where people would be sneaking around to.

With the server tools out now, with punish and forgive kicks, it might be ok now.

I was playing at Karkand and I put 2 C4 at the flag area, 1 in the street, and 1 where all the Marines pour in from the ally, I went to that building on the corner and hid on the roof, waited for the flag to turn white, -click-, half their team was dead (I forgot how many it was exactly, but everyone on their team had a high vendetta against me after that).
