I just had to make a thread with a better title.

Alot of people think that nothing will happen if you report a cheater. Me included untill now.
Maybe I'm just lucky this time.. we'll see next time I catch one.

In my thread "I'm so excited" I wrote about a glitcher on Karkand..

2 days later he is wiped.

So what did I learn...
1. Report direct to EA
2. Upload a clear .png file showing the "crime".
In my SS you can see that he actually kill someone while glitching.
3. Upload a SS on the scoreboard (.png)
4. I also had him fraped but they didn't ask for it.

Most of the time it doesn't work because people submit half-assed proofs to get player's stats erased. Yours clearly shows him glitching and there you have it, he's clean again lol.

What puzzles me is that people are getting reset if they are directly reported to EA faster and more often than not than if they were reported to BFROE or BF2RS. Why is that? Are they really ignoring reports from BFROE and BF2RS?

Nobody I have reported has been reset and its not from lack of evidence. I have provided everything from SS's, PB SS's, BR demo's you name it, bulk evidence. They have been reported to either BFROE or BF2RS or both, though I have never reported directly to EA, maybe that's where I and others are going wrong. Some reports have even been analysed and reported directly to EA by IndianScout (on the spot) but still no reset. I guess I'm just unlucky and those I report and very lucky.

I don't see why anyone cares about being reset: personally, I see it as a chance to make even better stats. I don't play for rank either, so getting my account(s) reset is of no consequence to me.

You may think it's worthwhile to get them reset, but in the end, it accomplishes absolutely nothing. Just a thought...

The thing is the people who stat pad/hack/cheat obviously care about their stats otherwise they wouldn't do it. Those people deserve to have their stats wiped because it will annoy them. I couldn't give a rats about stats personally. Stats for me were only a means to unlock guns. Once you get to 50k that's the end.

I just finished reporting Leech to EA directly this time. Lets see what happens

I agree and I think this game will be more fun to play if we get rid of as many boost-my-stats-ego-persons as possible.
If we do I think the teamplay will get better on the public servers.

The player I got reset had spent ~1300 hours on this game.
I do think he care now and if he got any friends they will be very careful if they ever thought of glitching/statspad.

There will always be cheaters.. in e-games, sports, real life.. I guess we all know that but if I can make a small difference I will not stop doing that.

I've had a response from EA. Seems to be generated spam but there was an interesting line in there which I will highlight in bold and I intend to ask them about.

To me this means that they would take action against the people who write the hacks. But if that is true why haven't we seen any evidence of that happening? By action do they mean simply wiping stats or legal action? Of course I provided them with everything other than the approxiamte time.

Your guy shouldn't have his stats wiped, he and his hardware should be banned from playing BF2, he freaking hacks.

EA will do nothing against hacks, they don't care, even stupid PunkBuster can't buts hackers... I mean come on, I don't really have to explain it all.

If you don't notice Punkbuster working, it's working well as intended since you will never, or should never, be aware of the preventions and restrictions exerted by PB against cheaters. There will no doubt be holes and breaches, and those are the only incidents when the anti-cheat system receives critical responses from us: the assumption that it's not working.

Something is very wrong if a community or the people praises ANY protection system/agency (border patrol, police agency, national security, etc.) with gratefulness for its role in prevention. We only give them credit if they cease an operation that more or less harmed us already, and even then there are conditions whether such responses were acceptable and satisfactory: was the action too late? was it efficient? could've the agency/system responded faster? could've the damage been much worse? could've this damage been avoided in the first place?

It's like the government: If it's working as intended, we will never be aware of it. However, we will always know its mistakes, errors, and flaws, and these will be the only events we will reference to judge the government.

Keep your comparisons of PunkBuster to real life situations to yourself bro, it doesn't work like that here. PunkBuster sucks when it comes to BF2, you know what PB sucks, period. CoD2, lol, also monitored by PB and it's even worse than BF2. The fact of the matter is that BF2 can be altered in so many ways that PB can't simply keep up, do you even realize how many private hacking sites are out there with BF2 hacks and low life people are willing to subscribe and pay on monthly basis for them?

Only the community who wants to play fair and square can do something against hacker right now and it is for them to keep their eyes open and try to catch prove them hacking and report them... **** even EA/DICE doesn't help the community, if we had 1st view perspective in the demos we could easily catch much more hackers then trying to prove someone hacking from "oh so creative demos" provided in 3rd view by our darling DICE. Give me a break.

I liked your analogy Bird Killer, and it does work like that, contrary to what Vik1ng seems to think. Obviously there are problems with it, but you are right that if it was working correctly nobody would even notice it.
