Joint Ops was pretty awesome when it came out. But when BF2 came out, it was like I finally saw the light.

Hopefully Frontlines or Quake Wars will be a good change from the BF2 world. Other than that, there isn't really any other game that is exactly like BF2 (besides bf2142 of course). Like someone mentioned above, you could try FEAR. it's pretty fun. It's gets a little annoying at times. But you can get FEAR Combat, which is basically the multiplayer of FEAR, except it's completely free. You can't beat that.

Call of Duty is pretty fun, too.

Have you played Resident Evil 4? Especially the "Mercenaries" game? Yeah, it's not an FPS, but is sweet.

I could recommend plenty of RPGs as well.

Mercs minigame only held me hooked until I unlocked HUNK and Wesker. Man, gotta love Weskers Thrust Punch. I remember flashing a ganado in the Castle map at the right, upstairs where you get the time bonus. Punched him and he flew all the way downstairs bouncing off the walls in the spiral staircase. Fun as hell.

I would recommend SWAT4, its close quarters and a little faster than BF2 in that respect, however a hell of a lot more fun with a lot of cool goodies to use. Its also pretty cheap now. Then theres R6:Vegas which Im going to play as soon as I get a new vide card, its where SWAT4 players are currently migrating to. Its said to be buggy as fvck and whatnot, but from the videos and impressions from friends, its kickass.

theres nothin out that even comes close to bf2 at the mo imo. desert combat mod for bf2 is what im waiting for:) oh you could try poe2 that rocks too.:P

PR 0.5 is the best mod out for BF2,. brings new skins, sounds, maps, models, realistic flying & shooting. Also brings a mode where you have to join a team.

I guess I'll list some RPGs (even if that's not the type of game you like):
Baten Kaidos - Gamecube
Skies of Arcadia - Gamecube and Dreamcast
FFVII and FFVIII - Playstation
(I haven't played the recent ones because I don't have a PS2)
Resident Evil 4 - Gamecube and PS2 (not really RPG)
GTA 3 and 4 - PC
Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic 1 and 2 - PC (these rock the house)

I guess these compare on the level that you will get addicted and they provide lots of hours of gameplay (some 100+).

i would say call of duty 2 is a very very good game i rate it high, the multiplayer as well oh yes ' download the demo mate and have a go

Armed Assault is out in Europe, and should be coming out in US in May. It looks pretty promising.
